Hard to support international racing if you aren’t selling bikes. I think bike companies need to offer something more than a few percentage points of bike performance if they want to sell bikes to the average committed enthusiast who owns a bike made in the last 3-5 years or the average once a month biker who owns a bike made in the last 8 to 9 years. Resale value is terrible currently and gone are the days of significant improvement to geo and parts quality by upgrading your 1-3 year old bike. And for the guy who isn’t that serious...

I believe Brook's contract is up after this season. I don't think he'll be getting re-upped on a major team so will likely have to do something like Blenkinsop did this year if he's looking to keep racing. It sucks the first two years at Mondraker were ruined by the bike he said he was not a fan of. He's got the new bike now, but the results haven't jumped up. If he doesn't have a killer last 3 world cups, and with all the team downsizing, I don't see him getting signed at a major/medium team. Will be weird...

I have no inside knowledge, but Im going with Gwin wanting him on the team because when he grows his hair long he looks like Western Jesus and that is comforting. ;-)

I think Finn is tired of been in Loics shadow maybe, he's a big hitter now, potentially can win at any round. He's sorted his head out with the crashing and really has "become a man" in front of us over the last few years. They are team mates, but also now they are real competitors of each other. You are right though, they are arguably the most dialled team and bikes on the circuit without dout, the telemetry, suspension, custom frames etc... literally factory moto stuff. but.... What edr needs most is to return to being a destination series with a focus on quality trails, experience, and a serious fitness requirement that served a purpose at the more remote rounds. It’s fine if a couple venues are regulars and a couple a year are at bike parks but what drew riders, media, and fans a like was that it was this pinnacle version of the sport to aspire too. they just keep dumbing it down into something nobody is interested in. And attaching these events to dh is severely limiting their ability to draw riders, have quality...

The difference is that Peaty spent his whole career helping younger riders with teams, deals and advice. Brendan did a podcast recently where he was saying how Peaty even explained financial advice to him. So he fits naturally into a team in a coaching position. Minaar, while obviously the GOAT and an amazing racer and ambassador, is also known for intimidating or confusing his own more junior team members. I debated on publicly griping about the schedule change but decided I am pissed enough to do it. We got to send Bodie to Loudenvielle and Les Gets for his first elite World Cups on a petition spot and send Kasen along with him to film and put together a couple Rooted episodes. It was all super last minute, required work to be moved around and missed and cost a shit ton of money. We were stoked to pull together some sponsor help to get those two there. I'm bummed for Dakotah, he's trying not to slip and die while all Cedric can comment on is his bar height. Nobody ever mentions how low Matt Walker's bars are, they seem much more notable to me. Dahotah's bars really aren't crazy at all like Mickael Pascal's back in the day.

Ten ride update: I've had the chance to spend more time on the Tacky Chan and wanted to give insight into its performance. On loose over hardpack terrain and trails that are generally straighter/faster, the tire is rad. It rolls fast, and if you aren't leaning over too far, the gap between the center and side knobs doesn't negatively affect traction. In bermed corners where a lot of force is pushed through the front tire, the side knobs offer a lot of grip and support.
