A winning setup doesn't last forever...I made the choice that I thought would bring me success for many years to come. Canyon has a bigger commitment to racing and winning and I've always felt I wanted a little extra help to go even faster. I recorded a podcast with Downtime last week so that should be out soon and explain some more.

This Pirelli / Trek racing thing seems to not make a whole lot of sense since Trek has Bontrager tires... Hoever, my theory as to how this has come about: -Think this move is more about money than quality of tires (what isn't). Pirelli may be throwing big money at the team (hundreds of thousands of dollars) to be their tire supplier. This will allow them to afford all the big rider contracts they're carrying right now as the bike recession looms. -Trek has (for a while now) been a distributor (at least in US) for Pirelli tires. Wow, that is crazy to read. 3 of us rode in Montreal and Quebec City before watching the World Cup in MSA with the wives. The riding at Sentiers du Moulin and Empire 47 was unreal. Hard to believe MSA doesn't capitalize on a growing ride destination and actually develop their trails! The rocks & terrain on Trailforks made MSA bike park look amazing. We were short on time and wanted to ride Bromont and MSA, but alas did not. Maybe one day we will return.

Once again my lunchtime scroll finds Jesse's posts on instagram and: Riding a black bike with tape covering the model name / company name. Any ideas for bikes with names centered on the top tube? Also taped bars, with bright green logos on the edges. Tasteful taping, as I can't read enough of the logo to be able to figure it out. Any sleuths?

I've done some more extensive photo enhancement on that photo Jesse posted, and there's absolutely no argument as to where he's going. This is 120% concrete, congrats on the new ride Jesse!!!

Does Atherton have the budget bandwidth to keep a freshly top 10 rider with years ahead of him? Not that I have any idea, but they're just starting to sell bikes, I question their budget for top riders, which they have been steadily producing and then loosing when it comes contract time. They're almost like the new Yeti, getting top talent started and sending them off to bigger things. Mille went pretty quick and I'm sure Kolb will as well, dudes stoked and doing well.
