For what it's worth I've snapped a gates belt on a power stroke immediately after a nose pick. It wasn't a fresh belt by any means but my legs are lacking watts, probably a combination of the compression and crank input stressing it. I know a gent with thighs the size of my torso on a Zerode, he couldn't stop destroying belts and 12 speed pinions under warranty so ended up getting rid of his bike.

That's hilarious. Reminds me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

This has got to be the worst looking kit in existence. Who thought that accentuating Goldstone’s hips would look good? Got to be the exact same design as Tahnee’s been wearing

people use belt-driven bikes for winter commuting in north-eastern north america (i.e. in much colder conditions, with slush and snow and ice and salt). belts seem to work just fine in those conditions. sounds to me like they're just looking for an excuse people will buy.

All racers are self centered… it’s the job.

Bruni has had a couple of different interviews where he comes off as very self centered and he doesn't care about the sport as a whole.

My racing hot take for the hour: I dont like doubling up Enduro and DH on the same weekend. Too much content to watch. If they want to use the same venu do them on back to back weekends. Then we get more racing spread out throughout the year and multi discipline athletes can race both. In other news, cold seems like a weird reason for a belt to break. Especially since its not that cold out and most other applications those things are used for are operating in much worse temp ranges.

Snowshoe's track is sick and unique, and much easier for me...but for 99% of people, really out of the way. It's a much better venue if they run two races there, like the double header. That was really sick and the tracks were quite different.

Snowshoe is a great venue. Horrible location for teams to get to MSA or other events. Lots of driving, flying and logistics. There is no winner here. Snowshoe is/was amazing. White Face will be? Who knows. Hopefully it works out. It will at least be scenic with fall in the adirondacks.

Im not disagreeing that there is enough people close by but I'm saying COMPARED to Snowshoe where you are immersed in the event all weekend your lodging is in walking distance to every single event for the whole weekend, you can walk to multiple bars and restaurants, concerts at night etc. Is a lot more enticing and valuable to most people looking to make a vacation out if it compared to having to stay 20 minutes away and drive to and from what is basically a empty mountain in the middle of a forest. Hardcore mountain bike people will go...

I personally hate everything Warner Bros has done with DH, but not having a clear and direct path for Gwin to be able to race is possibly the most egregious.

If I can add my 2 cents here. I don't think Sram paid Jack, or the team, anything. That whole YT deal is that they run whatever they want because they don't take money from any sponsors. Now I think that was changing because the industry is struggling and they probably saw how much money they were losing out on. My best guess is YT asked Sram to pay to support the team and they said no, so YT doubled down on the TRP/Fox association they had already been building. Vali would be the only one I could see saying...
