Another rim tape suggestion: I find that when I can't get rim tape to stick (which is often, even with cleaning well, using a heat gun, etc) is to Gorilla tape the rim after it's fully cleaned, press it down to have it adhere, remove it, and then install rim tape. I've found that whatever residue is left behind by...

I never noticed that until you just pointed it out, even though I've seen this bike so many times. It's at the top of the list of bikes I actually want to ride, alongside the Rallon (in both DH and enduro capacity).

Likely just an easy number to move towards. It's not too big (36) but enough of a jump in size to make people think its better. Pure marketing. 29" kind of made sense, it was already the same rim and tire diameter as road bikes, so making that jump for manufactures of wheels and tires, well all they really needed to do was make there 26" wheels and tires on machines they kind of already had. Remember, this was when MTB rims were huge if they were 25mm wide. And when that kind of stalled, they introduced 27.5 as an...

Probably missed this discussion, but is there a reason we went from 29 to 32? What about 30 or 31? Or 30.5 (just like 27.5 is between 26 and 29). Curious: Was 32 just an arbitrary choice, or is there some reasoning?

The Moir curse continues Sad Hope he lands on his feet, he is a fantastic ambassador for the sport to the kids of Australia and in all my dealings with him over the years one of the nicest blokes you will ever meet. What you see in the videos is him in reality, a true legend.

I believe Moir can definitely be a valuable asset for a brand, even if enduro is on the decline. I'm not big into bike YouTube, but I like to watch guys like Wyn, MoiMoi and Sam Pilgrim cause there is always stoke and the commentary is fun—I don't care for the faffing around that some other content creators put out...

In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

Normally the easiest way to identify the brand is where it's been ridden. If it's Bellingham it's Evil or Transition, Colorado it's a Yeti etc etc. But it's safe to say that the proto isn't coming to market. Full carbon frame in 2023 and we haven't seen it again since? They tested it and for whatever reason didn't continue with that design.

I don't remember all the Yeti 6 bar patents but I think most of them (if not all) used a 4bar to emulate a linear path in order to replace the switch infinity slider. Like the one in your image. This one uses a scissor link which is effectively close to a Chebyshev link which is basically a single sided Watt link. And some patents used a Watt link too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watt%27s_linkage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chebyshev_linkage

I'd argue that seat tube/top tube juncture and the elbow where the chainstay meets the bb is entirely consistent with Yeti's design language, just reconceptualized around a different suspension design. The rocker link and seat stay bridge don't stray far from the current DH bike. It's been out a few years now so no secret anymore, but I saw an aluminum test mule for their ebike platform way back in 2017 that looked a lot like this. Given that pic is from 2023 it's anyone's guess if it's something they pursued any further after refining the DH bike. The fact...
