I think you’re both missing the point of the Tempo. It’s not supposed to be a light efficient trail bike, it’s meant to be a short travel bike that you hammer like an enduro bike, same as the Forbidden Druid (which also comes with a Lyrik/36). Nobody is buying a Tempo to count grams or ride blue trails. The 36 is the right fork for the bike’s intentions. I’d personally also spec gravity tires on it.

This is a slight derail but I agree. My hot take is that the ride quality of the new Lyrik will never be good enough to justify the weight. The previous one was awesome, and so was the one before that. The fact that is being praised as much as it is, opens the door for the other big dogs to keep beefing up. Current Lyrik is nearly identical in weight to the previous gen 38... The Pike was a quality enduro fork in 2017... Please spec 120-140 fork travel bikes with pikes/non-obese Lyriks/36SLs or even 34's. I'm so sick...

Me. I’m the one who will probably buy one. I am not a more travel is better guy. I’ve run hardcore hardtails for many years as my ‘trail’ bike mostly because I couldn’t find a 120mm frame I felt like I could hammer. This is Cat 5 rated. And comes with a Lyric. Sign me up!

New Tempo is live. Such a rad looking bike but I struggle to think who would buy one in reality. The one available complete model is much burlier then what was offered with the V1, although travel is still the same. I think I'd prefer the older version spec wise, would be fun with some light tyres. Pic below for context.

New Specialized Enduro will drop early summer of 2027. It will come specced with a genie zeb fork. It will have a Genie vivid air, that is mounted vertically directly in front of the seat tube. The rear layout will look similar to a 2012 era Demo 8, but with a link that comes around the seat tube to the top of the shock.

Can confirm Megatower will not be updated, likely will stick around till they have no more units. The general thesis at SC is the ebikes will be 4 bar and the pedal bikes will stick to VPP (at least until PON decides they have to go open mold on all their frames). Yeti ST is being released this year as an updated 120 to the new suspension platform.

Commencal Meta SX is due. They didn't have any new framesets for sale this year.

Banshee has a new Legend, got to check it out this summer under Team Buell Bros. Updated geo and kinematics, no more imperial shock sizing, and more adjustability. Looks like another solid option for an alloy DH frame.

There was a post here that a Forbidden bike (non-motorized) was spotted with the vertical shock / HP layout that their ebikes have, getting rid of the tunnel. I could see that. I'm over shock tunnels personally, make setting rebound a PITA and limit dropper insertion.

There are a lot of bikes with linkages that look like this, but Giant's design specifically uses a single bolt to mount both the lower link and the lower shock eye.

Maybe it's a dw, I'm sure weagle has some words regarding giants suspension design.

I hate this chainsaw is a freeride bike thing. It’s just not. No one wants a high pivot for freeride. It’s a dh bike they made with too little travel.

I can tell with absolute certainty it's not California. Haven't lived there, but whenever I've traveled to northern Italy it's been very affordable for what you get. 40 euro lift tickets (at least they were about 10 years ago). Bed & breakfasts that are clean and have nice home-cooked food for about 100 euro per night, right across from ski resorts. A couple I know of close to retiring are planning on moving somewhere there because it's just so much cheaper.
