Redbull Race Tapes is an amazing series. I suggest everyone watch all the episodes. Or at least this Loris/Loic one. You can see the tension (Shandro expecting more/getting frustrated and Loris being dismissive as 'that's the best he can do') Clearly stuff can be edited out of context, etc. But there's obviously tension in how Shandro sees him performing and Loris being 'whatever' about his performance. Trek gives a damn, they've been trying to keep him happy for over 2 years. He's not on the podium and winning races, so he's not happy and searching for F1 support like Loic gets. Trek/sponsors offering what they can but it's not reaping results and I don't think they're willing to totally re-design the bike for just him (not sure if that's what he's been asking). It's also evident from Redbull Race Tapes that he and Andrew Shandro aren't the best of friends. I think Andrew expects a lot out of him and Loris' personality doesn't totally jive with...

Trek letting Loris leave versus them simply putting more focus on his "asks". I'd bet on his "asks" as opposed to simply having the guy walk. It's just the ebb & flow of DH, "My ideal setup would be..." gets taken as "I don't like where I'm at!" When really...if you're winnning, people just say congrats & ask no questions. If you're not winning...it can't just be that someone is faster?

It is divine, even if folks don't agree with you. I'm gonna guess it's just gonna be another European location, the heavenly thing makes me think it'll be at a place named after a saint and there's thousands of places named after saints in the EU. UCI and potential venues don't seem keen to move outside of the EU anyways.

World Cup circus at WindRock might not be a big issue if scheduled far enough in advance. Time of year is the big hurdle. Place is hotter than hades this time of year. When those jumps first came out, I thought, “Oof, maybe it’s just the angle that makes it look so bad?” Now I’m firmly in the territory of, “Fuck that shit, I have no interest in watching the event now.” I’m fine watching pros hit xxl features that are built well (Rampage or Dark Fest for example), but I’m not down with watching someone get bucked to their death on a feature that looks like it was drawn out by a child that drank one too many energy drinks.
