9/18/2023 2:05am If you're seriously suggesting that the coverage of racing this year has had more of an impact on bike companies than the global economy and recovery from the pandemic you are absolutely dreaming. There have been multiple stories over the past 18-24 months about how companies have been paying more for stock/production/shipping than before, increasing their retail prices dramatically, and forecasting way higher sales and ordering inventory accordingly. The global economy has shit the bed, inflation went wild, people's spending power has been cut, businesses are hurting across almost all areas. Whether that's restaurants and bars shutting down because people...

9/16/2023 2:07am UCI DH has had new tracks and venues this year, more interest than ever (any press is good press and all the negative comments are comments none the less), more entries than ever at most races it seems. Huge interest from brands, who despite not having budget still want to be involved in DH some how. The only people your hairbrained idea of not watching content would hurt is teams and riders, mainly riders. So weird the way the same haters who want the World Cup field filled with privateers and want sick tracks are the same ones who say...

6/5/2023 1:57am So strangely, there doesn't seem to be any DH fantasy for 2023... So I went ahead and created an app so we can all still play and follow along with the 2023 season. https://www.downhillmtbfantasy.com/ I've been testing for a couple days, hoping I got rid of all of the bugs. If I didn't, just let me know and I'll patch it ASAP. Also welcoming any feedback!

4/7/2023 3:19pm Yeh that’s right. I’ve been seeing over the summer (our southern summer) that he hasn’t had it on and obviously not on any other athletes it seems this season. Just curious as it seemed targeted as a racing product but the top racers don’t seem to be running it.

4/7/2023 2:10am Has anyone seen any Rockshox athletes running flight attendant on their bikes? I haven’t been able to spot any from my casual peruse of the footage from the first 2 EDRs.

9/1/2022 11:20pm As much as people seem to already complain about less riders on the start list, more expensive costs and all. I kinda wonder if it actually won't help the sport become more professional? I've been following downhill racing for a while now and the days where anybody could just show up to a wc and get a top 10 are getting smaller and smaller. Within the last ten years we've seen the sport evolve to a point that if you're not a top shape athlete putting in the hours, you ain't gonna cut it. I find it similar to F1...

8/19/2022 1:57am How come people are so interested in fullface helmet models? Its like this thread gets 50% of posts about helmets and the rest about all the other parts making up a bike.

5/7/2022 1:22pm While I got certain aspects of your point (we can all agree that people lack decency when talking on the internet), I have to disagree for the rest. For sure it's a shitty situation and having money or not does not erase the trauma caused by an assault or a theft. But we need to stop this fucking trend of asking money from the average joe because you are well known and will trigger their sensitivity. Let's be honest, if tomorrow I am mugged and my belongings are stolen, I doubt you will take me seriously if I come to...

5/4/2022 6:32pm It would be nice to not have to mess with tokens which can effect CR’s and instead rely on an HBO system. Wouldn’t that get us closer to a linear rate spring/coil-like mid stroke support? EXT just teased another clip of the ARIA air shock. I think this will be the direction I head

4/18/2022 2:57am The light short bike was snappy/jibby. The downcountry bike was such a sled that it required proper components to hold up. You just don't understand bikes!!!
I'm guessing it wasn't the same person doing both tests? That's quite an issue with not just testing bikes, but testing anything that can't be measured completely objectively. Even timed runs on a bike are subjective as rider skills and preferences will play a role. Once you are dealing with such subjectiveness, you need to know who tested the product and wrote the test as that is an important insight.

4/18/2022 2:56am 'Down country' (just typing that makes me feel dirty) bike test -Needs 203mm rotors, 4 pot calipers and dual ply tyres to make it ridable. Enduro bike test, The 150mm travel bike with 180mm rotors and shortest/steepest geometry was our favourite. Being light is vey important. They are hard to take seriously tbh.

4/18/2022 2:53am for the longest time their blatant bias toward canyon was so obnoxiously obvious from their group tests they lost any credibility in my eyes. But then again, I do like reading about bikes and looking at sharp pictures, so it is still in my bike pages -favorites menu

4/18/2022 2:53am I'm subscribed to their RSS feed and the amount of irrelevant and confusing stream-of-consciousness nonsense they publish is impressive. At least their group tests are interesting.

4/14/2022 1:41pm I understand wanting to keep a lyrik for the lower weight but if you think you can tangibly feel more fatigue due to the increased stiffness of a zeb you're lying to yourself (sram claims it is 2% stiffer than the lyrik fore and aft which would be the direction causing the chattery vibrations that cause fatigue).
