Getting a screenshot on insta reels is super hard! but I spotted this bracket with 2 positions. I got some rough measurements from the those other pictures to estimate the change in Linkage (I don't think the model in there wasn't super accurate either) and yup, it probably increases the AR to 100-120%

Given the talent, the talent in opposition to Hattie, and the hard yards she's done, it's pretty bloody well earned!

I agree with your assertion, but there is something important to add too. Economics drives culture, and vice versa. There is a not insignificant portion of the population in the US that can't take risks, both physical and economic. A bad accident could put a family in generational medical debt, and you can't take half a year off to go race bikes, because then you won't have health insurance. This leads to a situation where young people that don't have significant financial backing from their parents cannot participate in bike racing. IIRC the Mallen brothers are an exception to this...

I think so yeah. I always kind of laughed at the overheating comments because I feel like riders will worry about that so heavily to write it off, then they go ride their Specialized Enduro with 18 of the 20 bearings notching and a lightly blown coil but still enjoy their ride to some degree. (Nothing against people that ride an Enduro, just jabbing at the insane number of bearings to worry about)

Wasn’t there a huge discussion here last year about that and the conclusion basically came down to airflow being negligible in cooling an mtb shock?

has scott finally learnt, you can hide the shock etc but putting cables through the headset kills sales.... I wouldve owned the genius/ransom but they had to put a plastic ring with headset routing... yeah no, no plastic in headsets thanks.

I shudder to think what that nicolai weighs, my XL Range VLT is 30kg and it's a huuuuuge bitch. I have to put an event in my calendar to eat pasta and pre workout if I want to try a manual or bunnyhop on the weekend.

From ESMTB/MTBR - Fox seems to be testing new neo suspension for XC this week. No caliper sensors to be seen, battery placement on the bottom of the leg of the fork. Shock seems to be some xc-float version, not the float x that some XC racers have used before. https://esmtb.com/ya-estan-aqui-cazamos-las-suspensiones-electronicas-d…

Not a rumor: silver dorados are dope. Remind me of shivers so much. Not a rumor: carbon dorados are ( more classy) classic.

ALSO managed to raise another $150 million, but they're not hiding from the fact that it's about much more than a couple of ebikes. They're using the data from the bikes to inform autonomous delivery vehicles for DoorDash, Amazon, etc. The valuation is now over $1B. Found the Fortune article without the paywall: https://finance.yahoo.com/technology/articles/3-500-e-bike-1-125000584…

The media misreported; there was a final meeting yesterday where the law firm handling the bankruptcy case for RAD, the prior owner of Rocky Mountain, announced that there were no more funds to be allocated for unsecured creditors. I assume the file is now closed. Rocky Mountain Bicycles, under the recent Chaos Sports acquisition, is alive and well.

I've more than once wondered who is underwriting his insurance or is it Red Bull with "we got you bro" My impression is that he's the sort of person who would be doing this stuff irrespective of money but that's just my opinion.

This is not standard brand related economics, but I want to get a better picture of Gee Atherton and his desire to do crazy shit. How much money does he make when he makes one of his risky edits? Does he get paid handsomely to keep going back doing it? They are often on location or with huge build budgets, but on the other hand Red Bull is often involved. I am sure it is a brand value play from Atherton, as he's likely not able to pay himself a huge amount given the size of the outfit. Is likely...
