That's all good and well but lets face some facts here - Cube bikes are junk (I worked closely with the brand at a distribution level), the kinematics were average at best and the frame failure rate we saw was out of control, more than 50% of carbon bikes sold came back with cracked frames and they were horrendously slow with turnaround time on replacement frames, always looking for excuses. Saracen is a walmart/whatever brand so no matter the caliber of the rider you'll never get results riding a piece of crap down the hill. Personality or not, Danny Hart...

I run moto style for brakes and it is definitely preferable. The benefits, aside from functional alignment with a motorcycle setup, is that I'm right hand dominant, and thus have a finer level of control of my primary (front) brake. The only downside is a big one though. Renting bikes in the US means I need to switch back to...

Altenative solution then : the winner can ride in pants, but needs to have his legs's picture printed 360 degrees from the knee so it looks like shorts ? All the looks while having the protection and compliance with the rules. Just throwing ideas out there.

Fall is in the air - and so are the riders, as Rampage draws nearer! Post 'em if you've got 'em, let's share the stoke during the buildup to the biggest show in freeride, going down outside Virgin, Utah on October 13 this year. Let's start things off with Gee "warming up" with a couple of juicy hits out in the desert...how about that hangtime??? The man is built different... 🤯🤯🤯

Having done a few high-end guided mtb trips in the past, there are a two key reasons why I said never again. If you address these, you'd be on to something: -Misalignment on the capacity of participants. Despite the trips all being expert/advance, the participant skill range was far greater than that. The result is the trips had to be...

File the “backsweep” topic right next to the “should your handlebars be the same height as your seat when it’s fully extended” topic. These are not tech rumors. These are subjective, personal preference, opinions based on anecdotal evidence. Enough.

Second the comment regarding a Nicolai frame. The difference a stout frame makes across a variety of factors was one of the bigger surprises for me after I spent some real time on the G1. All the bolts, including the rear axle, don't work themselves loose and the bolt heads are properly sized for the torque specs. The shock isn't...

More pregnant bikes, more big motor, more big battery and more staggered wheels...kickstand??! I was really hoping ebikes were going towards SL version, like the rise or Levo SL. But now they are really an hybrid between a Moto and an bike. Different sport all together in my opinion.

Hey Guys, another update. Austin was one of the first people I called after getting hurt. We're buddies and talk/ride together fairly regularly. I let him know what was up and wanted to confirm that he was staying in Europe for the next month like I thought he was. He's racing Maribor this weekend and isn't planning on coming back home until after the WC in Switzerland next month either way. That was good news as he's easily ready to go if I pull out. I also contacted USAC to make sure they get him everything he needs to compete...

Somewhat related - I recall an interview with the engineer who designed the original Azonic shorty stem. Apparently they were a big smoker and made themselves a custom version with an ashtray machined into the top. Love to see a pic of that...

From experience, this issue can occur if you have too much preload due to overcoming the negative spring. I would recommend backing off the preload until spring is just barely engaged when the rear wheel is off the ground. Note, if you are running a lot of preload, it might mean you need a stiffer spring..

The pinkbike news got me to finally register over here too. The writing was on the wall at PB for a while I suppose, starting with Aston leaving, then RC, and of course WAKI. Vital RAW has always been awesome and the reviews well considered, so I suppose it's about time I properly joined the community. I try to get...
