Today, Cannondale is breaking the mold by making boundless adventure more accessible than ever before with the launch of the new Moterra Neo e-MTB. Featuring Bosch Smart System technology, Moterra Neo redefines the boundaries of exploration and access in the backcountry while instilling the confidence to ascend higher, descend faster and ride farther.
“We designed Moterra Neo with every rider in mind ensuring this is the bike that new and seasoned Cannondale fans have been asking for,” said Scott Vogelmann, Cannondale Global Director of Mountain Product. “The e-MTB category is one of the fastest growing segments in cycling, empowering riders to explore and challenge themselves on trail in new ways. With a forward-thinking, rider-experience focused approach, we designed Moterra Neo with a more powerful drive unit, all-new features and updated geometry. And, true to Cannondale’s heritage, we’ve crafted a total package that will change the game in this category that reaches so many riders.”
Moterra Neo stands out with a new mega-range Bosch Smart System. Featuring a rechargeable 750Wh battery, range anxiety is a thing of the past with more time to take on challenges and tackle obstacles. The new Smart System also consists of Bosch’s most powerful e-MTB drive unit – the Performance Line CX which provides a maximum of 85 Nm of torque for a smooth, natural ride experience. All this is coupled with an integrated LED control unit with a buttonless display that can be customized for each rider’s needs through Bosch’s new Flow App.
Cannondale’s applied Proportional Response ensures riders get the best performance and comfort out of Moterra Neo, regardless of their height. Proportional Response is Cannondale’s unique size-specific design applied to every Cannondale bike. To do this, Cannondale adjusts each Moterra Neo’s geometry, suspension layout, and chainstay length based on rider size and their varying center of gravity. This proprietary design centers the rider better between the wheels for unmatched handling and traction. While climbing, it allows the rider to relax and be less tense. While descending, it offers a more stable position for speed and handling corners with precision.
Moterra Neo boasts a modern frame geometry that has been redesigned from the ground up. A slacker 65-degree head angle provides a more stable ride experience at speed and over rough terrain. Measuring in at 77-degree, the bike also features a steeper seat tube angle which means better pedalling efficiency in addition to greater control and capability while climbing. With range and a fine-tuned ride experience checked off the list, Moterra Neo is ready to rip.
With minimalism in mind, Moterra Neo has been thoughtfully designed to be easy to live with and includes a simple to remove battery with a sealed cover to protect it from the elements as well as a new, flip-open charge port. Additionally, a concealed stem means that cables are routed directly into the head tube and give the frame a sleek look. Select models are also equipped with a bright 1,000 lumen Lezyne light, rear fender mount, rack mount and kickstand.
The all-new Moterra Neo will be available in 3 different platforms: Moterra Neo Carbon, Moterra Neo Alloy and Moterra Neo LT (long travel) in sizes small through x-large. Moterra Neo Carbon and Alloy will be equipped with 150mm of front and rear travel while the burlier Moterra Neo LT will feature 170mm of front travel and 165mm of rear travel with a mullet wheel setup (27.5-inch rear/ 29-inch front). Groupset and component packages will vary based on model. Moterra Neo retails for $5,850 - $8,600 USD.
