1/7/2025 10:55am I dont know that dust wipers have a longer life but the dust and mud is sitting on the wiper the same way. Gravity is working for you on a USD fork. So, I have a dorado 37 that I adore. When it comes to life, the open bath TPC cart in the damper leg looks like it could almost never be serviced. Wipers stay good, oil never gets water and dirt ingress and stays silly clean and sliders well lubed. The air spring side stays clean but the grease breaks down faster. If someone wanted a no maintenance fork...

1/7/2025 10:16am Wheelbased w/ some AXS dropper patent stuff; tl;dr new dropper(s) likely in April. Guessing we see it at Sea Otter: https://wheelbased.com/2024/12/31/fcc-dropper-and-new-battery-location-…

1/7/2025 10:16am Live that guy. He has very few problems with designing a prototype and testing it. His main holdup is the added complexity of getting a sellable batch made. It's why he's stuck with small CNC machining. Also saw his Psalm 150 on display at the EXT tent at sea otter. It's a little bit of aluminum art.

1/7/2025 10:12am Looks like I'm late to the party since I've been on vacation. Brakes are definitely not easy. Between custom seals, custom tools, and some necessary knowledge that isn't widespread, good brakes take a lot. I would say they are either third or fourth most difficult thing on a bike behind the frame itself, the fork/shock, and, depending on specific design, the dropper. Some droppers are pretty simple, though. Frames are only on that list because doing a full blown production run requires tons of testing and the tooling is more complex. Brakes definitely are not something that anyone with a...

1/7/2025 10:09am Something seems very fishy around Cast. I can't tell you what yet, but I would bet money on it. I'm expecting a bunch of half baked ideas and quarter baked forced marketing (Mous case anyone?) before they drop off the map while Tarek laughs all the way to the bank.

12/26/2024 12:16pm Yeah, I would. There are enough ways to manipulate the way it feels that'd it be cool to ride it on different designs. I had a Genie shock show up this week (*was not in a bottle). If/when I have other test bikes that the shock fits I'll toss it on to see what it's like.

12/26/2024 12:16pm Remember when everyone got all up in arms a couple months ago cuz Specialized made a new shock for the new Stumpy that had that scary word associated with it (**proprietary**😱) and it seemed like you had to ride the bike with the shock? Well, we got to go test with Specialized for a few days to see what led them down the path of making a larger volume air shock with two-stages. And we got to ride the Stumpy with some other shocks to see what that's like. (Spoiler: the bike rides just fine with a coil or normal...

12/26/2024 12:14pm Since we’re talking about Chinese knockoffs the Risk knock off cable routing kit from Ali Express (even found one on Amazon) for $15 was the best tool purchase ever. Since they're that cheap to produce I think they should just be included in the goodie bag that comes with framesets.

12/26/2024 12:09pm You can rip on their English translation skills all you want, but I'll wager it's a helluvalot better than your Mandarin. Their derailleur architecture looks more aligned to Sunrace's RDM series, just with a battery pack and servo rather than a pulley and housing stop.

12/26/2024 12:06pm Wheeltop's G(supertinymisplaced)e X is to SRAM AXS GX as Transmorphers is to Transformers, or Chop Kick Panda to Kung Fu Panda. Who do they think they'll fool with that branding?

12/17/2024 11:33am Hardly fair to imply the OneUp post falls into the cheap but unreliable category. You'll find outliers that have replaced a number of cartridges, others who occasionally service them, and yet others still who've more or less never had to service them. Other than cleaning the collar and adding slick honey to the seal head, I've never had to do a take-apart service of any of my oneup posts after years of use. Where were you for the first 5 years of dropper posts? Maybe you've moved the goalposts since but 90% of the stuff from that era is going...

12/16/2024 8:48am I had a bike yoke dropper. Worked great. When it needed a rebuild I learned it was a damn Rube Goldberg device. After three attempts, I gave it away. Maybe the partnership didn’t work out because the device wasnt complicated enough. Maybe OneUp wants it. Edit: sure like my 4 OneUp posts that work just fine, even if not perfect, and can rebuilt in 10 minutes. would gladly buy a electronic adaptor and spare myself the hassle of internal cable routing on some bikes with headache -inducing routing.

12/16/2024 8:42am Turns out it was not on good terms. BikeYoke has entered the chat and apparently this product doesn't been the German standards. Sorry for beating the dead horse but context needs to be present for vital readers
