As you mentioned, this is old information by many years and product cycles. Yeti does all their engineering work in house from kinematic to ID, FEA and carbon layup along with custom suspension tuning. They do partner with a vendor in Asia for production but all the main work is done in Golden. Love it! I'm also both surprised and disappointed that there hasn't been a "make another thread" comment, as someone is usually on top of this 😄 Now for a proper Tech Rumour comment. That new Magura brake looks like a very cosmetic update on the MT7 caliper. I'm guessing they're taking a similar route to Hope with the V4/E4 where the calipers haven't been updated in what, almost a decade, but we're up to Tech 4 on the lever/master cylinder. Does anyone have any further intel on that? Does the new lever provide 10/20/30/40% more power?

I think it's just worse optics for Transition because they're so vocal about only being like 10 people yet they're charging only $100 less than Santa Cruz for a frame ($3500) Their bikes are great but def feel more "catalogue" than SC, Yeti, Pivot, Ibis, etc. Nothing about them screams premium except the customer support and the price. My alloy Patrol is an amazing park bike but was not worth the $2,400 the frame cost. Transitions frameset prices should be $2k for alloy $3k for carbon. At least the new TR-11 is the best deal for any DH frameset out...

I looked into the patent and unfortunately they have you beat by a few months. Provisional was filed in March of 2025. Provisional patents are a great way to buy yourself time to fully decide if you want to pursue something while getting a foot legally in the door and not spending a ton of money. It gives you a year to decide if you want to proceed with a full on patent and doesn't have to go through the same review process so pretty much anyone can file one.

I have literally been trying to file a third-party preissuance submission with the US Patent Office for 2 hours but their website and phone menus are dogshit so I'm giving up. It would have been hilarious if submitting a pdf of vital comments is what got a patent not approved. Anyone got contacts at SRAM? Would be good to at least contact them lol.

Commencal quietly dropped the Tempo "V2" with the only revision being they got rid of the headset cable routing. (praise be!)

I'm 6'6" here and have zero interest in 32in wheel bikes, my XXL Spire is long enough on tight trails. I'm more concerned with the XXL sizes disappearing from lineups at a rather rapid pace with no explanation. I know we are a small market in the XXL frame size. But Transition dropped all XXL sizes for 2026 and their 2027 lineup won't see the size return. Yeti offered the SB140 and SB160 in XXL but are not offering it in LT or MT. It's a shame to see companies pulling back from this size as it nice finally riding...
