Given how few aluminium fabrication joints remain in the the USA finding similarities between brands probably speaks to them being fabricated in the same places. If you factor in a belt (which has very specific parameters) it’s hardly surprising something looks very similar. It would be pretty cool to see this make it to production, it’s the hype we need right now.

Lead is problematic for multiple reasons. If you need something around the same density (i.e. steel isn't doing it for you) then I suggest 10 carat gold.

I had custom made guide+bash made out of 5mm steel, it was around 300g, so maybe 200- 250g heavier than usual alu one. The single sided(ness) of it surely wasn't noticeable lol, but to be honest neither was those 200grams. You also have to realize that plastic bash dampens some of the load and can be fail safe part to prevent damage to BB area or at very least iscg mounts. I wouldn't recommend using super stiff steel one on carbon frame like I did on my dune xr.

Agreed, the coverage from 2016-2019 was great and never left me wanting more, there was so much coverage back then, including more than enough IG stories where you could watch the action "live" and the ~30min recaps on YT were awesome and no clue why PB stopped doing the "Photo Epic" recaps either. They main appeal back then were all the unique and exotic locations they were going, OZ, NZ, Chile, Madeira. Drool worthy stuff. I would regularly throw those recap vids up while riding the turbo trainer during to the winter months and fantasize about riding somewhere other than...
