3/4/2024 5:09pm OK, name another mainstream company that's done more for the sport and the athletes it supports in the last 15 years than RB. You ask why the change of heart? Can you point me to anyone from RB vastly over estimating (or just plain lying) on screen about the number of new viewers they've brought to the sport? You'll probably say they're only doing it to sell more fizzy drinks. No companies get involved in sponsoring MTB events out of the kindness of their hearts, they all do it for exposure and in an attempt to sell more of their...

3/4/2024 5:05pm I would put my money on this coming down to pad retract. The amount of push back they would get if it was next to impossible to get the rotors not to ping off the pads would be a lot more than a stiff lever feel. Throw in a cam with an aggressive motion ratio in the early stroke and it lets you get the pad retract in conjunction with a larger ratio of caliper piston area over master cylinder piston area at the expense of increased lever force early on in its range of motion. So I think it's...

3/4/2024 3:21am Definitely going to take a look at them. Hard to say what all will really be possible until can see what the pad retract numbers are. There are some specific things I want to try that could work out quite well knock on wood.

3/4/2024 3:21am @CascadeComponents any thoughts on potentially producing an aftermarket set of cams for the Mavens? I feel like some of the complaints people have had could be tuned out on your end. I've been running your cams in my Codes for a season or so and really enjoy the advanced bite point.

2/29/2024 7:26am A GoPro isn't serving as an impact multiplier or ramping up the friction of an initial impact in any way. Concussions are like a cat of 9 tails on a bull whip. The weight of the head on the hinge of the neck is the amplifier. Now if you want to say the added WEIGHT of the GoPro is an amplifier because it increase the whiplash of the head on the pivoting neck, I'd be fine with that. GoPro on top (like with the hat) is a puncture/abrasion/fracture risk only if you lawn dart. No real concussion threat there. Lawn...

2/27/2024 3:10am Imagine Shimano releasing a new saint group that looks identical to the one that's been out for 10 years. I'd love that, it would be the best thing they've ever done.

2/23/2024 2:12pm Sorry, *the switch to the smaller 200mm rotors helped the power roll on instead of hit all at once. I accidentally wrote 220. Making the switch helped a ton with being able to use varying levels of lever input. With the 220 up front, the slightest touch seemed to nearly lock up the wheel. I normally run Code Ultimates and will likely switch back for what I feel like is a more usable range of power for a trail bike. These brakes will be going on my Enduro and Downhill bikes where I feel like the power is more applicable...

2/22/2024 4:57pm Thanks, Pretty severe asthma meant that COVID put me in the hospital for most of December 2020. The good thing that came of it is that it got me back on a mountain bike in August of 2021 after close to 20 years off the bike.

2/22/2024 2:02am Nigel Page just put a goodbye and thanks post on Instagram. I find this super sad, as he is one class act as a human being. I read this as in ”hopes were still on until the last moment”. I can't wish him and the team anything else but the best. I want to add one more thing here: I met Pagey 22 years ago at the Worlds. He was injured and watched the races from the side and somehow I ended up talking to him. Being the kid in love with racing that I was and still am, I...

2/21/2024 6:10pm re: why coaches don’t hate Whoop The athletes want to use Whoop because it is marketed to them consumer tech and wearables is not my personal preference, but people who want to pay me to tell them what to do aren’t always interested in writing me 600 word summaries of their life stress, mood state, sleep, etc... All i know about Whoop is that it has a decent .api interface with Training Peaks, which is the SAAS platform that most coaches are using to build and monitor programs for athletes that are in established endurance sports with a “tech ecosystem”...

2/21/2024 3:43pm Legitimately wondering, not just trying to crap on whoop. Why not use a device (from Garmin as an example) that provides the same metrics while also providing accurate HR. Whoop HR data is widely reported as inaccurate and that makes it difficult to believe the rest of their metrics because most if not all rely heavily on HR. I don't...

2/20/2024 5:18pm I was thinking that all last season. If you compare his and Finn's HR either Bruni's a freak or the product is a complete waste of time.

2/20/2024 5:18pm Much of the HR data they showed throughout the season (DH & XC) was inaccurate. It was pretty laughable.

2/20/2024 5:17pm 150bpm while on a DH race run seems low. Assuming Loic has a somewhat normal max HR, I would expect to see more in the 180+ range during or right after a sprint.
