12/13/2025 8:50am While a more massive object requires proportionally more force to achieve a specific acceleration, it’s important to remember that in compression the thing imparting this force on the unsprung mass is extremely massive. The unsprung mass is going to get out of the way of whatever impact it encounters. Rebound is really the question.

11/17/2025 11:49am Two big reasons: available width for packaging and side loads. On a moto the linkage doesn’t get side loaded, the swingarm mounts directly to the frame.

11/6/2025 11:40am why do you think everyone should have the same length rear center but a size specific front center and do you believe every size rides exactly the same?

11/4/2025 1:25pm Fun fact about seat tubes: 31.6 just so happens to be the ID of a 1-3/8” diameter, 0.065” tube. We have 31.6mm seatposts because some engineers were lazy/clever.

11/4/2025 1:06pm Isn't the general consensus that Dominions are a smidge more powerful than Codes, but not at the level of the new, powerful stuff?

10/8/2025 12:32pm Agreed. If it is, I hope it’s something interesting and new. I’m tired of “here’s our new SPD pedal, it’s special because we anodized in in your favorite color”

10/8/2025 9:42am In my mind shimano brakes are synonymous with “brakes that might suddenly decide to bite 5-10mm closer to the handlebar” I have 8120’s on my Sentinel and they’re being replaced with GR4’s once I pick them up from the LBS tonight.

10/3/2025 10:40am On moto you have a bushing that slides past the clamp during travel. The split clamp keeps the tube profile more consistent under load so the bushing moves through it better. That’s not the case with an MTB fork.

10/2/2025 5:51pm Free ride never left Maren makes a free ride bike commencal has made two free ride bikes. Transition technically made two free ride bikes if you count the patrol and the spire especially for the fact that both can be run in 27 five with no issues. The Santa Cruz nomad is another amazing free ride bike. YT. Propain specialized. Even track offers the session with the ability to run for 27. There’s countless other ones that and currently are available. To be honest, the most freeride thing you can do is take a bike like a patrol long stroke...

10/2/2025 11:40am Isn't the Bottle Rocket a shorter travel bike, like 120mm? Looks like it is metal, so that's good. I have a steel Trail or Park 26" circa 2005 or so, still a good pump track bike/dirt jumper.

10/2/2025 11:37am Sorry, I meant “the local bike shop” not “The-LBS.com” a website called the LBS is cause for much confusion. 😆 BTI (the distributor they ordered them from) still says they’re in stock. There’s a chance they land tomorrow. 🤞 Edit: anyone can view the BTI catalog. It’s super useful if you want to know what your local shop can order.

10/2/2025 8:49am I agree, it looks like it’s full 27.5. It seems like an odd business decision though, other brands seem to be trying to cut down on number of models. Currently Transition has the Sentinel (can be long shocked to 160), the Patrol (160 or 170 depending on shock), and the Spire (160 or 170 depending on shock). Adding a 4th...

10/2/2025 8:22am I’m curious to see how this fits into the lineup with the Patrol. It seems like they have a lot of overlapping bikes in the 160-180mm space.

10/1/2025 9:57am The holes let oil up to the upper bushing… those are already on current 38 boxxer. Someone patented the channel around the bushings. I’m sure fatigue is been calculated and tested. RS didn’t mess around with fatigue. Also curious how they’re making the dimples.
