5/2/2025 6:56pm Are Shimano rotors just garbage now? I put some RT-66’s on my GFs bike a while back and the flatness was so bad the levers pulsed like the bike had ABS. I attributed it to them being cheap rotors. I just put some new XT brakes and rotors on my bike (MT-8120 with RT-MT800) and they pulse under braking too...

5/1/2025 1:16pm Looks like the part is machined but it really doubt it's cast - works for lower on rsu forks, wouldn't work for the crown and steerer. And with Intend sales numbers die casting anything (to get a decent casting quality) is a no go. Better to just start off with a block of aluminium. As for threaded crown race, no way are you putting enough axial force on that thread to make it work better than a pressed in interference fit that we have these days...

4/23/2025 12:22pm Transition have always had the numbers up AFAIK. Mine is a 2022.

4/23/2025 7:42am Those starting and ending leverage ratio numbers don’t match the numbers Transition published for the bike. The Transition numbers give you more like 33%.

4/22/2025 3:04pm The new TR11 leverage curve is basically the same. It’s still extremely progressive. The Float X was an odd choice, but at the time, the other Fox air shock was failing if you looked at it funny. Although I don’t know why they wouldn’t have just gone with a coil shock. Maybe the Float X is an underrated shock. I’ve...

4/21/2025 2:40pm I never said refined. Just saw that they were live before their timeline they said earlier. "Coming in May". Looks like small changes only. Was hoping for a bit more tbh.

4/16/2025 4:48pm Yeah, that's not correct. It changes the length of the pushrod that goes between the rocker link and the master piston. Effectively changing the starting point of the main piston. Cutaway of a Guide from NSMB:

4/11/2025 3:50pm I have the standard lines, but I’ve felt the braided lines on a friend’s bike and they feel basically the same to me.

4/10/2025 2:37pm Does anyone on here have experience with both the Tech 4 E4 and the Tech 4 V4? I’m wondering if the E4s have a less of the kinda vague lever feel that the V4s have. My main gripe with my V4s is how the bite point feels vague/mushy.

4/8/2025 12:47pm Around me where we ride alot of state parks, there is no one giving tickets, but there is swath of people who don't want bikes on any of the trails. They love to conflate any poor interaction to anyone who rides bikes. We have tons of mutli use paths that connect trails. Its gone take one bad accident and we may lose bikes in our parks. They don't care if its EMBT or what class. Its a bike to them. I don't understand why anyone needs to go that fast pedaling. Commuter on road, sure.I was trying to figure out...

4/8/2025 8:59am Can’t class 3 ebikes legally have a throttle up to 20mph? It’s not so much the 28mph that’s the issue, it’s the can of worms you open by legalizing class 3 ebike use.

4/2/2025 2:29pm California and the west coast has long been known for having trail access issues. The implementation of e-bikes have increasingly complicated matters in recent years. Our trail advocacy organizations have fought long and hard for more access by building relationships and trust with land owners. Specialized had long been a big proponent of trail access with programs such as Soil Searching until they recently axed the program due to budget cuts. Now allowing e-mountain bikes to go 28mph on our local trail networks will lose the trust of current partners and kill the possibility of opening up new land to...

4/2/2025 6:48am And yet entirely in keeping with the overall industry ethos. My biggest initial reservation on ebikes was around their potential implications for access. Rules vary a lot and in their quest for sales I can't recall any company providing any sort of guidance on potential "ethics". I recall one manufacturer taking a fleet of Ebikes on a dealer demo past a "no motors" sign in Whistler..... The implication that users will self police themselves is naive at best and disingenuous at worst...
