Mountain biking since 1996 when I bought one to commute to work in London and started seeking out the interesting ways home.

First 'proper' bike (GT Zaskar with XT and Judy XCs) bought with student loan in 1997

Started reading Dirt magazine, riding street and jumps - bought one of the first Orange MsIsles from the bike shop I was 'working' at in 1998

"Some rider" is Joost 'The #Boost' Wichman who I think works and rides for Radon already, so nothing new there, although would be interesting to see if they do anything with a team to promote/test their new bike

There's a nice in-depth article on the recent history of Mondraker here https://factoryjackson.com/2017/04/25/the-way-forward-the-story-of-mondraker-bikes/ - suggests it was around 2010 they were experimenting headangles of 63 degrees and less - into production in 2011

No love. I've got MS, which hinders my riding, and I've sworn against Ebikes due to potential trail access issues because, while not terribly fast, I can still pedal on my own. But someone in Martin's situation is another thing entirely. This story was about inclusion. Bringing our lost soldiers back into the pack. If he'd had a crazy powerful motor and won the event, I'd say DQ for sure. But just letting a man live his dream is something entirely different. No love... (I thumbed you back up to even by the way.)

Wow. Well now my bet's on another certain Brit for the win but how wild would it be to see a dual Ausie brother and sister title on home soil? I have no idea who to root for, so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the excitement! Hope Rachel heals up fast and is strong again for 2018.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say too many N American organisers or venues are looking solely for a ROI - there is no passion spirit or risk takers and maybe more importantly little help from host towns and tourist agencies that kick in around the rest of the year. While yes, Aspen could have done another year after their great job it is also good to go to new venues and give venues like Aspen for example to build even more cool tracks like they did this year. Don't solely blame EWS and UCI for not...
