10/10/2023 9:53am Yup, missed that one. Was marshal'ing XC when that race was going on and didn't watch the JR race. Was that guy just trying to cross the track? Because while bad, that's not nearly as bad as the MSA dude. Good point on the super-fans, but given't the amount of beer (or moonshine) flowing on the hill, it can be a short trip from super-fan into a super-idiot.

10/3/2023 2:56pm A World Cup at Whiteface would be awesome, but pretty sure this is just a rumor. They have no DH trails left and as Heikki Hall said, they would have to start from scratch. Currently, they still run the lift in the summer but do not allow MTBs on their mountain. The XC scene is growing there but they also do not allow E-Bikes on any trails in the town of Wilmington and pretty sure E-Bikes are in some of the WC races. They never liked having DH MTB or even downhillers there in the summer because they do not...

10/3/2023 12:31pm It is a flat track, and you are allowed to think that this is not what is good for the sport you are at the top of, no ? If you go extreme, why not add the sea otter to a world cup, it is still downhill in the end. Yet it is not what I or Loris think downhill should be. Some guys might even like Sea otter track, it doesn't make it a good downhill track. And this season Bruni is the fastest on all the flat sectors, so he doesn't need straight ski slopes, he needs flat...

10/2/2023 4:46am The ORDA race will be xc only. Remember ORDA is an agency of the state of New York, and they absolutely have zero interest in mtb downhill, as a sport or a recreational activity. Hopefully the state will prove me wrong and hire some people to build a nice world cup dh track real quick-like next year, hahaha.

9/30/2023 5:59am Asa signed a Frameworks contract months ago… before his Enduro nats, BME wins and US Open silver, and has already been doing tons of testing with upcoming Fox and Maxxis stuff. Honestly for an American kid, Frameworks is the dream setup... Stay in Brevard with Neko when you aren’t riding moto in the desert all day with your dad, team...

9/28/2023 5:39am The Snowshoe XCM was anemic, scary, considering its the venue for XCM worlds next year. Even though Marathon is open to literally anyone with a racing license, 33 men’s entrants and 9 Women and 18 “open” non-elite starters is definitely “not great”. Of course if USAC hadn’t held their XCM national championship 11 hours away in Alabama over the weekend...

9/19/2023 4:47am Pinkbike is the most visited action sports website. It’s not going anywhere. The content may get worse over there(and yes, it has already gotten worse), but Pinkbikes ain’t going nowhere. What ISN’t scary that Outside has done in the last few months publish the VeloNews archives that they had recently digitized and uploaded. From its founding in Brattleboro VT in...

7/19/2023 5:01am The Vermettes recently moved to Cortez from Durango so that they could ride moto year round(like the Tomacs!). According to his dad he doesn’t really do any other training besides riding moto and having fun on his bicycles, he played rec soccer for 12 years, and around the time he quit soccer they started homeschooling him so he has more...

7/8/2023 11:54am In answer to: “so, what do you guys want to see on here???” Less links to social media. Make forums great again. I deleted my FB account years ago when I realized all it did was make people depressed and spread nutjob conspiracy theories. I never started an IG account because it's just a different flavor of FB. I deleted my Twitter account after Elon bought it so the right-wing trolls could spew their hate unhindered.

7/6/2023 10:23am I’m the kind of rider that goes to the bikepark with 3 different rise handlebars, 4 stem lengths and 3 shocks and only rides the same two trails all day, a/b testing. Handelbar rise AND stem length/rise and spacer stack are all related. “rad” might be a good way to approach things, but actually going out and collecting data is...

5/27/2023 5:20am There are quite a few folks that build paved pumptracks now. I’ve helped Avidtrails.com build a few over the last few years. If this is on public land you will likely need to put stuff out to an open bid process, fwiw.

5/11/2023 5:44am Do y’all race Downhill Southeast? There are so many teams aligned with that series(like Transition Factory Racing, IFR, Gravity Academy and obviously Frameworks) that are actively involved in building up North American racing and racers, and are committed to getting people overseas. The feeling of connectivity between the groms and the pointy end of the pro field is palpable. There...

As a true Child of NORBA, I was so stoked to see Randy Lawrence in the pits wrenching for and coaching kids. All of a sudden RL is at Nationals, and SoCal kids are mobbing the front of the Jr ranks? That’s definitely not a coincidence.

I’m 30+ years into MTB fandom- It’s been about 20 years since we’ve had pro and Jrx fields this deep at a national. Hopefully the same energy and momentum carries forward for the Mtn Creek and USopen rounds!
