3/11/2024 8:30am Spomer, The link just goes to a list of every nation with an enduro national championship, so qualifying this year is exactly the same as last year. Pay out the nose for a team, go to europe and win amateur at The World Series or win a national championship. RIP enduro

3/10/2024 6:57am As someone who has iterated full suspension bikes with Dave Weagle before- the design matrix he shares with his customers to iterate kinematics is more sophisticated than a few graphs, there are a few more integrative rider-focused parameters that I don’t usually see people talk about on message boards he likes to use to relate feel and function. Dave will...

3/9/2024 6:06pm I wonder about this. Any bike brand has had the opportunity to notice that the way the plots of leverage ratio, antisquat, and antirise are misunderstood in a lot of settings (reviews, forums) might not be a net benefit to them or their customers. Is it transparency if it’s going to be used to build some internet doofus’ imaginary narrative about the bike? Yes and no? The most fundamental ideas at play when looking at the output of a program like linkage should include 1) it’s a model, and it’s a model of just some of the behavior of the...

3/6/2024 5:28am the year: 2033 The remaining humans on earth spend their days fighting wildfires or working in the lithium mines harvesting the minerals needed for the World Cup E-Bike races in Bentonville. Now that Bentonville has expended from the WV coalfields to the Pacific ocean, the global dream of fully paved electric flow-trail racing is finally realized on the remaining parts...

3/1/2024 6:15pm Tha combined with the mounting a shifter issue... when he is using a matchmaker brake clamp backwards with an i-spec shifter.... how about mount the shifter to the clamp the brake has, or use a lower profile clamp in the correct direction... everything about that was a mess

2/26/2024 5:20am You will find that most UCI inscribed races that download inscription data from the UCI database list a rider’s club or “local association” instead of the sponsor the riders filled in. The NZ cycling database also likely attributes riders to clubs based on where they list their home adress. In the US, depending on how annoying the UCI commisare is...

2/24/2024 6:44am Remy Morton 37 seconds back with no drivetrain and a rear 24x3” at 40psi, still my favorite part of this event.

2/22/2024 10:42am My laps at Station a few weeks ago were SO FUN. I’ve never seen as many great jumps packed into one place, and there seems to be a growing network of zappy/yappy super sniper dh-style trails popping up. The TX hillcountry seems to have one heck of a great gravity oriented mtb community- good luck to everyone racing TX enduro cup 1 this weekend out there!

2/21/2024 3:58pm re: why coaches don’t hate Whoop The athletes want to use Whoop because it is marketed to them consumer tech and wearables is not my personal preference, but people who want to pay me to tell them what to do aren’t always interested in writing me 600 word summaries of their life stress, mood state, sleep, etc... All i know...

2/21/2024 7:00am With the athletes I coach: I have the majority of the endurance athletes run whoop straps, just to track their sleep and recovery. They are already paying me a bunch of money every month for my listening and observation skills, and I do value an additional metric to look at total load on the athlete enough to ask these folks...

2/20/2024 1:10pm I guess it’s going to be a great fit. The quantified self has been riding all the same currents as mtb, the gamification, the pointless metrics casually intermingled with ones that could be useful iff used with some care, the fetishization of technology and novelty combined with disdain for any of the boring science that could tell you when something is real vs imaginary. Get stoked! If it’s fun, who cares! Yeah boy!

2/20/2024 7:34am Jeremy was at all the World Series rounds last year and the broadcasters never put him in the booth. He called quite a few cx races on Eurosport this season with Marty Macdonald and Helen Wyman, and killed it.
mickey Added a reply to 25mm ID rim tire
2/17/2024 6:38am Using a 2.5 or 2.4 WT maxxis on a 25mm ID rim absolutely isn’t great. Your sideknobs are at a truly suboptimal open angle, and will(in my experience) start shearing off completely before the center knobs show any wear at all if you are the kind of rider that enjoys turning on hardpack. Rims wider than 25mm and tires wider...
mickey Added a comment about press release Chris King Releases DropSet 6, the Latest GripLock Headset in Their Lineup
2/13/2024 6:23pm yes, and 15 years ago, is41 was a popular interface standard used across the whole dang bike industry, top and bottom, on everything except BMX bikes, but King had a whole treatise on their website about how IS bearing interfaces weren’t up to their standards.
