the year: 2033 The remaining humans on earth spend their days fighting wildfires or working in the lithium mines harvesting the minerals needed for the World Cup E-Bike races in Bentonville. Now that Bentonville has expended from the WV coalfields to the Pacific ocean, the global dream of fully paved electric flow-trail racing is finally realized on the remaining parts...

Tha combined with the mounting a shifter issue... when he is using a matchmaker brake clamp backwards with an i-spec shifter.... how about mount the shifter to the clamp the brake has, or use a lower profile clamp in the correct direction... everything about that was a mess

You will find that most UCI inscribed races that download inscription data from the UCI database list a rider’s club or “local association” instead of the sponsor the riders filled in. The NZ cycling database also likely attributes riders to clubs based on where they list their home adress. In the US, depending on how annoying the UCI commisare is...

My laps at Station a few weeks ago were SO FUN. I’ve never seen as many great jumps packed into one place, and there seems to be a growing network of zappy/yappy super sniper dh-style trails popping up. The TX hillcountry seems to have one heck of a great gravity oriented mtb community- good luck to everyone racing TX enduro cup 1 this weekend out there!

re: why coaches don’t hate Whoop The athletes want to use Whoop because it is marketed to them consumer tech and wearables is not my personal preference, but people who want to pay me to tell them what to do aren’t always interested in writing me 600 word summaries of their life stress, mood state, sleep, etc... All i know...

With the athletes I coach: I have the majority of the endurance athletes run whoop straps, just to track their sleep and recovery. They are already paying me a bunch of money every month for my listening and observation skills, and I do value an additional metric to look at total load on the athlete enough to ask these folks...

awesome, now all american dh needs is a sanctioned dh series north of the Mason Dixon line. Somehow UsOpen is the only sanctioned race in the entire Northeast?

I guess it’s going to be a great fit. The quantified self has been riding all the same currents as mtb, the gamification, the pointless metrics casually intermingled with ones that could be useful iff used with some care, the fetishization of technology and novelty combined with disdain for any of the boring science that could tell you when something is real vs imaginary. Get stoked! If it’s fun, who cares! Yeah boy!

Jeremy was at all the World Series rounds last year and the broadcasters never put him in the booth. He called quite a few cx races on Eurosport this season with Marty Macdonald and Helen Wyman, and killed it.

Using a 2.5 or 2.4 WT maxxis on a 25mm ID rim absolutely isn’t great. Your sideknobs are at a truly suboptimal open angle, and will(in my experience) start shearing off completely before the center knobs show any wear at all if you are the kind of rider that enjoys turning on hardpack. Rims wider than 25mm and tires wider...

Kyle and Rachel were on last year’s trail bikes down here in the Texas Hillcountry last weekend where they were racing DS and running a clinic. (P1 for Rachel, P2 for Kyle behind a local on a ratty singlespeed hardtail)

The reality: machined and glued aluminum is hot right now because the bike factories don’t want to build prototypes any more. 10 years ago you could get a test mule built on the mainland and airfreighted to you in like… 5 days, for about 3x more than what a factory would charge for a production frame from a whole 40’...

Cannondale was also moved from the Bethel train station to Wilton, literally up the street from the aerospace company that used to manufacture all the Cannondale tubes. You think the California coast is expensive? Try the CT coast! The Dutch would be doing Cannondale employees a favor by firing them all, it’s not exactly possible to make a living in...
I’m relatively new to mtb racing(gonna be my 31st year racing this year) but before I started racing, I was a teenage super fan who studied the history of MTB racing the way normal American jock kids study sportsball. American mtb team sponsorship was historically more about real life brand activation than earned media. 20,000+ people used to go to...
