well they do make the rt66 in 220 but its flexy and stamped. vibrates quite a bit at high speeds. Im more worried about their 1.8 thing, most brands have moved on from thin rotors.

i love you friggin nerds. all bikes are great somewhere. all bikes suck somewhere. get moar bikes. short chainstays are cool. long stays are pretty wild too. dorado FEELS way different to 40. Way. but thats the point right? I feel like santa cruz screwed up by not making bullit "MOST BIGGER" (battery/travel/geo) compared to VALA. but my ebike is a 2stroke. so maybe im way off.

gonna play devil's advocate x1000 here about levo speeds with the explicit mention that i don't care if anyone anywhere buys one, i would NEVER buy one (who has nearly 5 figures to spend on a bicycle with or without a motor???), i'm painfully aware of the wrench this class 3 stuff throws into trail advocacy, i fully expect 87.69% of levo owners to be rallying illegally in class 3 and i fully expect downvotes to go skyhigh, but... i own a toyota yaris (maybe 97mph top speed). a mid-life-crisis guy in a neighborhood down the way owns a ferrari...

I thought you were right so I built one! dropperchecker.com Doesn't solve the missing frame insertion info. But still makes it a bit easier to make a call.

Frame stiff but maybe the chainstay compliant, wheels compliant radially yet stiff laterally. Stem stiff, bars compliant but then only in one plane if you line up very faded little marks. Seat post stiff, but compliant seat. Fork stiff fore-aft, yet compliant in some other direction for better tracking. Hub should have instant engagement, except while rolling at which time they should have decidedly poor engagement. That should do it, the perfect bike if you will (wheel?). Oh yah, add compliant radial tires.

rockies_alpine Liked a reply to forum topic Carbon rims On enduro style bike, general consensus?

Have been running WAO Unions for 2 seasons @ 190lbs. 100% will go carbon again because I can be a lazy bastard and never touch them. Have broken one single spoke in that time, and have never even trued them. Finally checked tension this year while putting in the new spoke... still perfect. They have shaken off many hits that would have killed any aluminum rims I've been on. Even though I can muddle through a wheel build and can do a great job at truing + fixing wheels, I'd go carbon again (built by someone else) for the labor...

I really don't understand the wireless hate. It's no worse than cable mechs in my experience. If anything j like it a little more and find it shifts faster. Less cables look nicer. It's just the evolution of bikes, no reason to hate it.

Another shot of the new Schwalbe Albert Gravity. Pretty similar to a Magic Mary. This one is a 27.5 X 2.6. Les Gets, today.
