Between The Tape Liked a forum topic Should You Reverse Your Stem? - Reece Wilson Setup Analysis
5/13/2026 5:28pm If you haven’t already, check out Vital’s latest PIT BITS for a quick overview of Reece’s particular setup. While there is a lot of interesting tech on Reece’s bike, one defining feature is the prototype raised reversed stem manufactured by Be More Bikes. Reece combines this stem with high rise bars to create a tall stack with reduced reach. This allows Reece to extend at the hips more, creating a tall, upright riding posture. However, doing this causes his center of mass to shift backward, disrupting the front-to-rear weight balance on the wheels. To counteract this and redistribute weight back...

3/3/2026 7:53pm I love my Santa Cruz Bullit ebike, but under California law, specialized is now making mopeds, not ebikes. I agree with Hans. It's disappoint to see Specialized disregard existing ebike laws and try to compete with DJI for the highest power boomer scooter. 750w is a reasonable limit for ebikes. Let's let ebike be ebikes, not mopeds or emotos.

1/25/2026 3:54pm Gotta agree with AndheM—the ride quality difference from my previous gen Norco Range to my current Bullit was an eye-opener. And I liked how the Range rode. I’ve definitely been of the opinion that you adapt to the bike as it becomes your normal ride. Going back to a 34 pound trail bike feels almost scary at speed once you’re used to the grip and weight of a big emtb. With all that being said, I was skeptical of the 600 wh Bullit when it was released—I figured the range would suck with less battery. I’ve been pleasantly surprised that...

11/20/2025 3:42pm In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

11/17/2025 9:40pm Have you tried the Trek Slash+? I have one now and was surprised how balanced it is all round, incredible downhill but still poppy and playful when you want it to be. Haven't ridden the kenevo much, main issue that I had with it was the seatpost insertion was trash, the Slash+ just gives me so much more room to work in comparison. Have a mate with a MTE and he loves it, gets much better range out of it than I do with my HPR50.

11/17/2025 9:35pm Capable =/= fun (depending on the rider) Not much of a compelling argument to be made of would you rather bunnyhop/scrub/etc a 35 pound mountain bike or a 45-55 pound ebike. Not sure I'll ever have the privilege, but I do want to try an 'SL' ebike one day to see if it feels like a 'normal mountain bike with some climbing assistance' or just 'a slightly lighter ebike with worse range'. Canyon Spectral Onfly looks fun to ride. But considering how easy it is to drain a 540wh battery on a Decoy and how unfun it is to ride...

11/17/2025 5:33pm why do they need to release something new? geometry is still spot on, the only thing i would change is shock orientation to increase dropper insertion. oh and a motor version of course

11/11/2025 5:25pm Resident Korean resident here 1. Things to do on bikes... RIDE!!! The race weekend is also the start of the bike park season locally. There are three parks within an hour of each other, two within five minutes. Alpensia Bike Park is literally right next to Yongpyong. The parks here a different from Europe, smaller and still growing. Wellihilli is further west at lower altitude and has fun runs. You could also ride in/near Seoul. We ride year round here and the outskirts of Seoul have some fantastic singletrack. Even some rock slabs with epic views on the eastern edge...

11/4/2025 3:58pm Not by design, although you absolutely can. There's plenty of folks out there who have mulleted any one of our 29" models. Considering the steep seat tube angle on this one, a smaller wheel won't pose a huge detriment to STA, although it will lower the BB height, so that's something to watch out for.

10/21/2025 10:15pm i just wanted to say how much i appreciate the discussion you're all having about this, keeping it thoughtful and caring. whether you're for or against the level of risk, i think it's clear that everyone here cares about the riders first and foremost, and that makes me proud of this community. some care that the riders have the freedom to make their own choices, some care about protecting them from exploitation or going too far. regardless of outlooks, thank you for all the input and experiences and sharing. no matter what, i hope that all the injured riders make...

9/30/2025 4:54pm The old one had a lower pivot, which performed well enough, but it seemed like Specialized were concerned about it being too low down and at risk of being scuffed or bashed on rocks. When they moved the linkage out of the way, it changed the pedalling characteristics a heck of a lot, and not for the better. So either they could have made it with an idler that doesn't let the chain wrap around the chain ring for more than 8 or so teeth, or they go for the 2 chain route. IMO the chain system is a packaging...
