I’m very happy to see Asa completing another impressive run. He’s the top male American prospect at the moment, no doubt! If it wasn’t obvious, it’s becoming clear that competing against TWINS is a new kind of challenge, Basically if one falters, a genetic copy is right there with the next run available. This is not to diminish either one of the Alrans individually—they both have a unique style and approach, and want to win. Also, briefly meeting them at Windrock—they are very nice kids. But still: having two brothers, both quite capable of puzzling-out wins, on a team with...

Why would there be something in that front hub and how can you post a photo of that decimated handlerbar setup without a explanation to what happened!?

Based on where that 2mm bolt sits, it looks like they've reworked the SwingLink (26 in first diagram) to be more like the Pushrod (18 in second diagram) in the Base lever. Appears that it's adjustable as well. More/less leverage is my guess. Ultimate / Bronze Base

I had a Mojo with X-Fusion. Friend was the local dealer and got offered a deal. Idea was to swap parts over time. It ended up with Fox 36 and CCDBA and full XT groupset as things wore out and items were in the sale. Still worked out cheaper than buying a better spec to begin with and I had it exactly how I wanted it.

These builds always perplex me. "Yeah, I definitely need a carbon frame on my DH bike... but the base model Boxxer and Vivid, and the MT520 brakes should be fine, right?"

It's more a response to the opinion in that NYT article. I agree that more needed to be done to diversify our energy sources, for both national security and environmental reasons. The current administration is rooted in the good ol'ways of things and it's concerning as a neighbor to watch it unfold.

I raced the EWS in La Thuile 9 years ago!!! The loam was really good, the dirt was also amazing. It seemed to have less clay content that what you find at lots of race venues in the alps so there was grip even in the moist areas. The fresh grass and heather was tough to race on. That Slayer...

This isn't throwing support behind the latest initiatives in the US, but who's to say that what's good for one country is good for the other. Both China and the US are playing to their strengths when it comes to energy supply and dependance. China relies on oil supplies outside its borders whereas the US does not. China is diversifying...

I think that the deeper you dive into this stuff, and the more opportunities you have to meet the people designing these mtb things, the more sympathy you develop and the more understanding you have over the flaws in the products. You lose the “everything sucks, the brands are selfish assholes who never give me the stuff I want for the price I deserve to pay” and gain a perspective like “damn it takes a lot of work to make bikes that ride this sick, and there is a ton of money that goes into this damn sport to fuel...

Fine if you feel that way, but I try to ask for riders opinions on the current state of the sport and also anything happening inside so people from the outside can learn more, Finns response was great and a lot people enjoyed his opinions. I interview riders who are doing well in the race, on race day my video is to tell the story of the race. I can't make a judgement on a case where no one actually knows the full story, and we never will it seems, so until then I will interview the riders who performed...

The last draw benches suitable for aluminum bicycle tubing in the United States were bought by Boeing from a facility in CT(in a building built specifically to handle all the aluminum profiles and bar stock for Cannondale)in 2015 and are now being used to make replacement parts for b52 toilets. I worked with the New Haven chamber of commerce and an angel investor to re-start that facility to serve the remaining domestic 6061 frame builders for a few years, we even managed to draw a bunch of 7005 profiles for a few friends. The final aluminum Turners and Ellsworths, among...

I was working in the engineering department at Specialized during the whole "zertz" thing. They did absolutely nothing. We tested frames with them and without them on an MTS test bed as well as having strain gauges/etc and DAQ systems on for riding. They did not damp or mute anything, zero difference. The shape of the carbon stay itself did change how the rear end behaved when compared to a "normal" seat stay, but the zertz did nothing. It even got to the point where Specialized was ordering field test frames without them as the cost was a bit lower...
