Essentially, you tension all the spokes around the wheel, fine-tune the lateral run-out first, then vertical, then repeat the process multiple times until you reach your desired KGf. Always de-tension and then bring it back up after replacement. The spokes that didn't break get put under more stress when a snap occurs. I found if you don't de-tension the next spoke to snap is roughly 90deg off from the one you replaced. Orb weaver spiders replace a bunch of strands when they replace a broken one. Kinda figure they've a better idea of these things than any engineer.

I'm guessing YT's investments in the USA are now considered liabilities, and they are finding it hard to do business with an unpredictable tariff environment. Right now, bikes from Taiwan are subject to both duties (~12% for regular bikes, 0% for e-bikes) and then another 32% for tariffs. And who knows what that tariff number...

The entire company structure was available in the Rocky Mountain bankruptcy filings. We're nerds here, I know. I'll refrain from saying more because we already have the "will more companies be shutting down in the next 12-24 months thread" which is actually "Bike business discussion thread" or "lessons in bike company finance and valuation with Jeff", and I'm afraid someone will link that thread to tell me to stop discussing such things in the tech rumour thread.

I’d like to know if Gwin hurt the good elbow or the bad one… Danny finished up at La Thuile, headed home to help Sophia deliver their third, and made it back to Andorra to try and qualify. What a lad. If it rains, no one will beat Max and Asa’s times I do not envy Juanfer dropping last. Does a boring track for the riders mean boring racing for us? Seemed so yesterday, today no so much. That tidbit about the MotoGP top ten vs our top ten is bananas. Tightest margins ever. LCQ still providing a great show...

Some tight racing. This morning MotoGP had a timed session. The top 10 spread on a 1:20 lap was 0.718 Sec. Our Q1 top 10 spread on a 2:40 run was +1.349 Sec.. How on earth can a bunch of guys hurdling down a blown out track with changing conditions (stray rocks, berms exploding) be closer than a manicured tarmac Motogp lap with everyone on the same line, 50 person support crews, unlimited data analysis etc. is beyond me. Madness.

7/11/2025 12:47pm Production volumes end up that there is little to no sharing of molds when producing the various models based on travel. You might save on the XS and XL molds if the volumes are low enough. Using one mold would also wear it out more quickly, thus requiring another mold to be made, once it's no longer repairable
