10/27/2025 9:40am From the horses mouth (aka one of the Shimano category leads at the XTR launch in Tucson, I think it was Nick), “there will always be a place for cable XT drivetrains.” So I think you’re good for the foreseeable future.

10/25/2025 9:53am I just want to say I completely disagree with every single point. A simple down vote wasn't enough. Just because you can't fathom what drives others, doesn't give you the right to demean them.

10/25/2025 9:52am No hate but I think this is a bit of an ignorant point of view. It is an extreme event we are debating so strong opinions on both sides are set to come out. I don't think a single one of those riders even considers fame or money when building their line. Their drivers are likely the rush of a complete run, the satisfaction of their line working, the high of adrenaline, their desire to push the sport and themselves and the goal of winning. There is not a single one who has an urge to mutilate themselves. Every rider...

10/25/2025 9:48am Total Air was a brand in our portfolio – those were made here in our facility. Eko Sport / Mountain Racing Products is our legal name, and we own and produce MRP, Kreitler Rollers, and Power Grips pedals. We also had/used the White Brothers, Tamer (seatposts) and Total Air brands previously, but no longer produce products with those names. We brought all of our suspension line under the MRP brand name in 2013 (discontinued White Brothers). I'm not sure when Total Air ended, but it was before I came on board (2010). 👍

10/24/2025 6:53am Hey look what I found in the parts bin: This was one of the last things I worked on at RS before I left... goal was to control big hits by weakening or slowing down the return of the air spring. I run my setup with a lot of spring and no damping, so getting bucked on big hits is part of the deal. This thing 'gulps' all the air in the positive chamber on compression and lets it out with a tiny delay (since it all has to go through the tiny hole to get out). No delay on...

10/23/2025 1:35pm I thought it was very brave of Ebruner to be vulnerable and share how many bikes he and his wife have. It can be tough to come clean. We’re all active or recovering bikes addicts here, and this is supposed to be a supportive community for recovery. Or enabling rationalizations and fostering codependency, if that’s what you’re looking for. Both, really. JUDGEMENT FREE SPACE

10/21/2025 12:46pm That's competition. DH racers take risky lines knowing they are faster. If they don't take it, they risk losing time. Pressure, weighing risk/reward, and making those decisions is part of all competition. It is part of every sport, heck it is also part of daily life. Carson understood the risk/reward and made a decision not to pursue a second run. The risk wasn't worth it. Looked like Boggs did the same thing. That is part of the competition, just like at the races. Loic did the same thing at the World Cup Finals. These guys/gals are so incredibly calculated. There's...

10/21/2025 12:45pm I disagree. Rampage has been around longer than social media. These guys have been throwing themselves cliffs before social media was a thing, and still be throwing themselves off cliffs even if it hadn't become a thing. Injuries have always been a thing, whether they are small, significant or life altering, but the fact of the matter is there HAVEN'T been any deaths. How many other extreme (or less extreme) competitions can claim a zero fatality rate in 24 years of existence? I'm not saying things can't be made safer, but I'm also not sure what the answer is. If...

10/21/2025 9:10am Great to hear! The new back end is actually being tested this week by new team riders in a secret location...This picture was taken last week at the Belgian Cycling Factory, this is Dale McMullen (Nukeproof Lead Engineer) and Steve Jamison (Nukeproof Product Manager) discussing the new back end with a new rider (you can just see his foot)!

10/21/2025 9:09am The twins splitting is something I've actually heard before. Surprising but if the offers are there, then why not eh? On another note, here are some photos of a few of the "park" features on the Korea track. Frank Pardal says he'll be doing a track preview Wednesday!

10/21/2025 9:08am As one who had a 'career' in freeride and spent that career working to get into Rampage, I have a lot to say about Rampage, its evolution, and its current state. I will try to keep it short. The professionalization of Rampage over the last 25 years has made for a better event. Riders and builders are better paid. It has resulted in more coverage, more reward, and the ability to build a professional career around the event. Is it perfect? No. But it is pretty darn good. Is there room for improvement? Yes. Has it gotten safer for athletes...

10/21/2025 9:07am i just wanted to say how much i appreciate the discussion you're all having about this, keeping it thoughtful and caring. whether you're for or against the level of risk, i think it's clear that everyone here cares about the riders first and foremost, and that makes me proud of this community. some care that the riders have the freedom to make their own choices, some care about protecting them from exploitation or going too far. regardless of outlooks, thank you for all the input and experiences and sharing. no matter what, i hope that all the injured riders make...

10/20/2025 3:07pm Yes I'm tootin' my horn here but the winning Rampage bike would fit right in here. That's a regular Altitude frame with a few low key mods that anyone can do.
