I feel like a big driving force behind a lot of the branded suspension designs was the FSR/Horst Link patent closing off the use of the best layout to other brands; now that protection has gone a lot of brands have adopted that layout. It would not surprise me if more brands move towards the classic 4-bar layout as it's a versatile solution. Not sure if Santa Cruz will be rolling this out over the whole range just yet.

You guys kicked off the steep seat tube angles with that bike. Remember putting a 36 on one of those?

Dropout pivot above the rear axle, like Rocky's Smoothlink designs from 10 years ago (the years/age doesn't infer a dated design...). I wonder if we still hold the patent for this feature.

That will be weird as making a mold for a bike that will be in market for less than a year is very much unheard of (though those bikes are hideous imho).

No this looks like a full power Bosch Gen 5 bike as per Norco's post on IG, but it is still strange as they just released a Sight/Range VLT...maybe they're moving away from 60lbs carbon eMTBs ? Another angle of the new SC, I believe you can see a pivot, but still not fully clear.

Well, I think it makes more sense on a road/gravel bike IMO I've had heaps of road punctures etc - can store wind jacket etc in the frame. Vs MTB... big rides are usally at the point of hip pack anyway or shuttle'd For reference i've used alot of bikes with storage, Stumpy evo, slash.... marin etc i've used it once, to put my wind jacket away on the EVO... and that was on a local ride. Never used it otherwise... id rather my tube be on the frame if i ever needed it(which i dont)... as most internal storage...

Disappointing Lauf went with 2.6 tires across the board when they're pretty unequivocal that they think 2.8 are better for the type of riding they created the bike to do. Cowardice! Shame!

I saw these forks on a newly released Honda Electric trials motorcycle. Showa 39mm stanchions, 190mm travel. Could we see them available for downhill bikes one day?

Right now the market fell out of mid and low end sales post covid. Top of the line stuff is probably chugging along just fine, as the target market is relatively recession immune, so we're going to see the eggs go into that basket for a while.

Linkglide has been spectacular for me. Might be my favorite groupset ever (it replaced dog puke NX, so that probably makes it seem better). Every low spec ebike should come with it.
