I like the ski analogy. I feel like there was a golden age for powder skis around 2012-2014. The Bent Chetlers from that era remain one of my favorite skis ever. Since then, powder skis have walked back a bit in terms of how purpose driven they are. I think largely because it didn’t make sense to have so many skis made for conditions few were accessing. I always felt that the suspension-creep happened for two reasons (and I'm happy to be proven otherwise): 1. Refined kinematics allowing for better pedalling performance allowing greater suspension travel without as many drawbacks 2. Better long-travel single-crown forks allowing for 170-180mm front travel without flexy noodles. These two combined resulting in models like the Megatower creeping up in travel, and then the Hightower creeps up behind to maintain the gaps in travel from before. What about killington for the other North American stop? Sounds like lots of pros headed for the us open this year. Close to st Anne for teams to travel with a van setup. Be a shame to loose the us open but with how good those guys are at building a track and race culture they could turn out new events and feeder series every few years. Part of the leaked document mentioned new venues hosting a high level event for a few year before world cups. Us open is a great way to do that.

tin foil hat time: Manufacturers conspire to eliminate a class of bike to pare down sku bloat. Chaz is proving the concept, why do brands want to make an overbike and a trail bike and an all mountain bike? Cutting out this awkward 170 bike (that everyone claims is overbiking) would save companies millions?!?

Fraezen copied Cascade chainguide/bashguard design with just a slightly different attaching plate so frame compatibility is better https://r2-bike.com/FRAEZEN-chainguide-FUEHRUNG-and-Bashguard-black-30-… So I can understand why Cascade would be angry/pissed when someone say their derailleur cage is a copy of Fraezen cage design.

Zooming in on the photo. Adjustable progression on lower shock mount. Adjustable geo via seatstay chip Adjustable reach with headset cups. Custom chainset (don't know brand). It will be eye wateringly expensive (not from photo......it's just a Pivot).
