I think this just an artifact of Dak being the only Mondraker rider at the US Open. He probably doesn't mind racing the 'privateer' life for one event to be able to have his own personal van and dog with him for the remaining World Cup rounds. I'm sure he'll be back with the team in New York. I mean unless something really weird went down and even if he is ultimately leaving, he is under contract until the end of the year I would presume.

Dak goes all in on explaining his race run. He might need to do another version that is more so 'explain it to a 5 year old' for me because I could never process the amount of data these racers do. Really highlights how racers need to just know, not think about, but know where every rock is that could put them off line. Because one bad rock strike and that could be your tire done...

I've always been of the opinion the start should have a solid wall on both sides of the rider to prevent any "catching" of equipment/gear/clothing & that nub proves my point. It should be at minimum an aluminum/wood half wall to funnel/graze & not chance a bike/gear/clothing snagging it. In addition to the DT Swiss hub rumours, I heard that E13 is releasing V2 of the sidekick hub sometime soon (October-ish). Will be lighter, more refined, and cheaper, from what I hear. Another rumour is that Santa Cruz will release a new Megatower and Nomad in spring 2026. No info on what changes are being made, but assuming similar to Bronson/Hightower.

My understanding is that Mondraker won't be on Sram next year. Apparently, it won't be like how Commencal Muc-Off had a transition year to full kit. I don't think I've seen anything to indicate "fake" stoke. For the most part, most riders seem to be excited for each other. Except Jordan Williams. I don't think I've ever seen him look happy, even if he's on the podium.
