No inside info at play, but I wonder if O'Callaghan ends up on Mondraker with Dunne. They're friends, they're fast, they train together already, and both has won a world cup.

Looks a bit strange for Dak at the US race weekend today...

Private van, private hoody...

Maybe he is off  mondraker already.

I think this just an artifact of Dak being the only Mondraker rider at the US Open. He probably doesn't mind racing the 'privateer' life for one event to be able to have his own personal van and dog with him for the remaining World Cup rounds. I'm sure he'll be back with the team in New York.

I mean unless something really weird went down and even if he is ultimately leaving, he is under contract until the end of the year I would presume.

Dare me to like you even less, Flossmann.

Miss a paycheck and you’re out forever.

i would figure it's largely because Mondraker, like many teams, are EU based and won't have as large a pit setup for the NA events.

More rips from the bowl takes, no inside info at play.

O'Callaghan to Mondraker

Already hit this one, but Dunne connection.

Norton to Syndicate

I'm not sure they're going to keep Greenland, a healthy dak could maybe grab a few more points for the team and bring a sort of American ratboy energy to the team.

Greenland to Continental Atherton

At the moment Atherton needs some energy who better than a local bloke to up the stoke and the team points.

This is most likely the case.. I'm sure the contract says which races they will be at.. Maybe some reimbursement for other races.. I'm sure he'll be in the Mondraker pits at the next 2 rounds..  Hopefully he has something lined up for next year if the rumors are true..

Did they mention on B-practice pod that Dak was very "tight-lipped" about his whereabouts next season? Which, in my eyes, means he has something signed and ready to go but can't talk about it yet. If he truly had nothing in the works, I imagine he would say he just doesn't know yet.

I have no clue if his spot was paid for or not but that seems to be tge general consensus if I remember right.

Not True.

Greg Williamson is there as well. Smaller setup but Dak probably just wants to travel in his own setup this weekend after being on the road for the past few months.

It was that same way in ‘23 when he left GR/IFR for Mondraker

Here’s a translated post from the German site mtb-news.de on the YT case:

According to our information, the YT Mob World Cup team will compete in the usual lineup at the last two Downhill World Cups of the season. Since Les Gets, however, the team has had to scale back to a much smaller setup for financial reasons. In Lenzerheide, Oisin O’Callaghan was already riding in unbranded Troy Lee gear. The riders and team members are reportedly no longer being paid, but for performance reasons they are expected to continue using their usual equipment.

reading between the lines I get the vibe that they are not willing to let them go; a couple days back someone posted the UCI rule for dissolved teams and it stated that they effectively had to be released in order to pursue other opportunities. that does not seem to be the case here.

If you're not getting paid then do you really want to keep working there?  Entry fees, hotels, and maybe flights might have already been booked and paid for. I would assume they stay on the same kit/bikes because, well, they have been riding them all year, are well sorted, and "free". If they wanted to change them out it would cost money/effort/time which is in very short supply right now. Kinda like Wynn or Brage riding a GT.

We'll see if answers surface come track walk day in NY.

Listened to Wyntv from Vermont. Sounds like Gwin is all in for the WC next year. I bet Dak is joining the program for super team USA / Tennessee.

It’s possible they had a company card for the old company that was denied for all those costs due to the situation and how that he is taking ownership back over he is working in getting things at least setup for rest of the season.  It’s seems to me that if you trying to get good will buy making sure people get bikes, refunds ect.. then work on next steps of getting company moving forward not paying the race team for last few races could look really bad.

He said the Mob is basically done while the company gets back on it's feet.. A race team is a huge expense.  Especially for these last 2 rounds in North America.. The honorable thing to do would be either 1) finish out their contracts as much as possible. IE, talk to the riders and say, "We can't do everything the contract stated, but we'll help with what we can" and outline what you will cover so everyone is on the same page. Or 2) release the riders from their contracts so they can start working with new sponsors immediately and maybe get some help for the last 2 races or get a head start on next season.. Hopefully they would at least payout the salary through the end of the contact, and I'm betting Vali is owed a World Champion bonus, to not leave the riders completely high and dry..

Maybe they have been released and that's why Vali might be on a new bike and team for the last 2 rounds?

From how it ended with Gwin and later Dak it never seems like YT was interested in doing the "honorable" thing.

Wouldn't it make sense for Frameworks to sign Dakota so he could help Asa settle into Elites and pass on some of his knowledge.

Imagine how good It is for the Alran twins having Amaury and Vergier to train with

Don't think so. Framework wants to stay young and future orientated. Nothing against Dak, but times done changed and the youngguns are taking over.

I quite like the idea of Laurie Greenland and Charlie Hatton on the same team, they have similar energies

Yeti will surely fill cami's spot with another female. Can't really see Nina or Vali there. Any other female contracts up?

How dare you talk about vitals prodigal son like that!
personally I think you’re a bit off in your take here, or maybe im off in my take, but I think frame works is the embodiment of home made hard work pays off.. and that’s Dak.

They should also get to keep their points. I am not sure how that works in that situation.

It seems like FW has had DMaples in their sites for a while, Dak to Gwin Racing and Maples to FW just seem really fitting for some reason.

Tough scenario all round, the 3 riders that sound like they've already got something lined up will be good but it sounds like the staff have been screwed over as well .

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Jack Moir yet ? On paper a great signing for any brand but it doesn't seem like there is too many options floating around Enduro at the moment.

I was just checking to see if anyone has talk talk about Jack Moir, but it seems like you are the only asking about him. It is weird he hasn't been mentioned. Talented racer who has some injuries the last two seasons, but makes killer content and Moi Moi TV clothing I own several pieces. So he should be a hot commodity this off season.

While I am talking Enduro, I know Chris Ball kinda left it out in the doghouse. There was a time that it was great. I know it can't be broadcast, but they did a great job with photos, and videos in the past. I wonder why the Enduro season ended so early? I know they had some early races, but come on. You can't race the same months as downhill?

In an optimal world we have all the Downhill, Cross Country, and Enduro races being broadcast for free, all riders get huge contracts, a ton off sponsors from the sport and outside of it. The biggest think I would like to happen is racing in cool places with new venues.
