If the seat angle is steepened so that it reduces cockpit length and subsequently requires more reach, what happens when the rider is out of the saddle? The Ideal out of the saddle/descending reach number is then likely compromised for climbing. I'm far more willing to adapt my technique to aid climbing than ride a bike that is too big...

I'm okay with having a compromised climbing bike if I'm not being timed uphill I'd rather have an AM bike that was geared towards the fun side of riding. I also think that technique and fitness plays such huge part in climbing and most guys are nowhere near as good as they can be.

Well I completely disagree with that unless you're racing XCO/Marathon.

Carbon Evo on the way next spring apparently. At 174cm and even inseam/torso the S2 size will be perfection for me. Well apart from the inevitable racist cable routing that all bikes seem to be adopting.

SWAT like storage on bikes. Or really good framebags for tube and tool.

I dunno - thread drift is pretty much par for the course on forums, and some rabbit holes does provide some information/gain for some - if not all - users. Taking the good with the bad is also par for the course and pretty standard etiquette, and people's incessant moaning about what they think or does not think constitutes "on topic" in a racing rumors thread is imho pretty petty. And lister_yu - thanks for the meaningful contribution to you too. source Blenki reference: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/the-resurgence-of-high-pivot-suspension-d… And yes, I am quite aware of the tinkering with various idlers and whatnot from...

Don't think anyone is questioning why RR is ripped. More like how can he be ripped (carrying a lot of unneccessary mass) and compete and win in multi-day endurance events? Turns out drugs are the answer...

Top and downtubes should be square section like the rear triangle. It's not very cohesive as is. Seat tube ID should be 34.9 too. That is going to be a new standard (size wise).

Not to sound disrespectful but I disagree with a lot of what you write. You are overlooking many fine details... 1) "Doping for road" (EG, HGH, EPO, Steroid use) would *absolutely* have a positive impact on athlete performance in enduro racing. I really don't see how you could argue otherwise. Have you done an EWS level race? Many are soul crushing. The hardest efforts I've ever put forth on a bike have been in enduro racing. Most of my friends who have also raced for a long time in multiple disciplines concur. Allowing your body to use more oxygen (EPO)...

I tend to see this whole story as you do JimmyPop. Seems like people, meaning people involved in mtb who genuinely seem to like the athletes under suspicion, are ready to stick their head on the tree and loose sight of the forest. It was a real test, by a real governing body, and as jimmy pop said, they got caught. Sanctions should be given. Simple as that. If we start questioning the validity of the system based emotional responses, we won't get anywhere. Ever. But since mtb is a tight knit community, some people seem to want to hold...

@jimmy Who is talking about giving a pass ? We're talking about staying put and measured as long as we don't have all the facts and the sentences from governing bodies. I can see two opposite points of view in the above (here with a touch of caricature) : - first the "burn these motherfu****** cheaters in hell with armstrong and all ! " Evil - second "wait a second, this might be an accident so let's give them benefit of the doubt for now" (or a free pass, cause you know Silly ) Now let's take a look at...

Face it, these two are getting a pass because of who they are. If it were riders from the EU we'd be laughing it up about those dirty Euros right now.

Seems even WADA disagrees with you there. Both of these are listed as specified substances. This is to recognize the possiblity of a substance to enter an athletes body inadvertenly, and therefore allow a tribunal more flexibility when making a sanctioning decision. EG: not all doping is equal. Am I the only one who sees the world as shades of grey? Lol. If nothing else, this is an interesting thought experiment in judgement. Some people are far more black and white than others. I've noticed this in other situations like this, most notably the #metoo movement, whereby everyone named was...
