re: derailleur in a can, found @Dave_Camp's dc special video from 2007 or 8 maybe? (it may be blocked in some countries due to my using destiny's child or ciara or tlc or someone as the background music LOL. if no one can see it, i'll try to get rid of the music)

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic is more expensive stuff worth it ?

Here's a quick list off the top of my head of expensive things that make no difference whatsoever to performance on an enduro/trail bike, or might even make your bike ride worse: -Kashima -Spending money on carbon/ti parts to save weight -upgrading to a carbon frame -alloy spoke nipples -hub engagement (unless you're riding trials or in super tricky climbing scenarios) -carbon cranks, bars, stem -XTR and most XT parts -XX1 and XO1 -Carbon rims (actually rides worse) -Light tires -electronic shifting -bladed spokes -expensive chains -ceramic bearings -expensive saddles (ti rails, carbon anything, etc) I've owned and ridden 90%...

1. Coaching, losing weight, getting fitter 2. As many have mentioned: a good set of reliable 4 pistons brakes. I've struggled for so long to make my 2 pots XTs 8000 work (not mentioning Guides, XO Trails, numerous Hayes, etc...), but as someone else mentioned, grinding a long climb to find out your brakes fade 15 secs in the DH...

Anybody knows if the cranks only fit Hope branded chainrings and BBs? Seems like it would fit a regular RaceFace 30mm bb, but I can't seem to see if the crank chainring interface is proprietary. Thanks!

Well said and laid out. Especially the part where modern doping is all about pushing the boundaries using the banned substance guidelines, WADA lists, etc... I find that part sad, really sad. But again, as enduro is a sport where you need to be fit and have cardio, it shouldn't come as a surprise. XC had a fair deal of...

I think in a lot of people's minds, as with Froome, Richie will always be a doper from this day forward.

I tend to see this whole story as you do JimmyPop. Seems like people, meaning people involved in mtb who genuinely seem to like the athletes under suspicion, are ready to stick their head on the tree and loose sight of the forest. It was a real test, by a real governing body, and as jimmy pop said, they got...

Zoro Added a comment about product review Turbine R

4/18/2018 5:57am
Look RF does, and has always been doing, great cranks, stems and bars. But the previous Turbine was such an epic fail, even though it licensed a known 2 work tech from 9.8. How do we know this one will be better? They will have to turn it around like CrankBro did with the Highline to regain confidence from the market. Btw, why no noise on the OneUp dropper release??? Are you guys stuck in Trinidad, Colorado!!!?!??!?!!

Zoro Added a comment about feature The Inside Line Podcast - Hans Rey

Is it me or old Hans sounds a bit sour about the whole game??? And, Spomer, he was about the unleash some crunchy info about how European trial riders were better then the Ryan Leef, Jeff L. era here but lacked exposure. Would have loved a bit of controversy / different opinions!! Great, pod, probably my favorite one to date with the Stickman one. Old heads make the best interviews for sure. Thanks guys

Great dude, amazing athlete, 100% pro. That being said, I don't know how I feel about him asking for the questions ahead of time. I get where he's coming from, and he is smart in that he really cares about the image he's putting to the public. Ironically though, its this overcalculation that makes him, at times, a bit boring compared to other guys who come across equally as pro like Greg or Peaty, but bring forth (for lack of a better word) a bit more color. He's AG, he's still the man. Here is to hoping he crushes 17!

I feel you 100% and I had the exact same thought when he said that at the beginning of the interview. I'm like, he's an absolute crusher, no doubt, but DH racing is an ultra-niche sport with a descent amount of coverage, but that ultimately touches a only handful of people in the general population. Does Steve Ballmer get the questions in advance when he goes on Simmons' podcast? Or anybody for that matter? The real flavor gets out when adversity is mixed with a good dose of humility, honesty and humor. And you simply can't get that with a...
