Zoro Added a reply to Enduro practice - Should it be standardized?

Word I didn't know that C. Ball explitcitly had the 9-5 demographic in mind. Good for them. Still makes these events hard to fully attend when you have to work in "normal" schedule. No excuses though, a good friend of mine juste drove from Montreal (QC) straight to Crested Butte, solo, in 35 hours with his Sprinter just to attend...

Zoro Added a reply to Enduro practice - Should it be standardized?

Jeff I feel the changes suit the sponsored pro-riders much better as they can adapt and (mostly) change their plans according to the new schedules, race course, etc. The balancing act that is the EWS is quite a sight to behold as you have the AMs wanting to test their stamina and overall bike skills on the same course than...

Yeah those Alpines and Fives are the most beautiful and simple bikes out there IMHO. I know it's not a popular opinion in today's carbon crazy world though!! Can't wait to get them over here, as getting one right now is pretty much impossible short of flying over there and buying one.

Wentz, what pedals would be more better than these one for XC. You seem to point out to some better alternatives, but without naming them! E13? Straitlines? Saints? Thanks great review btw

It's a great idea/adventure. Dangerous one if there was ever one. BUT why of why do these guys use pseudo mountain bikes or even cross bikes when you are gonna roll in the jungle and hit some trails? They seem to struggle on the trails with those tiny tires...

How this bike a "weak" bike? I don't get it. Does it break when you look too hard at it? I wouldn't think so, being a Turner, and that they are hard as *uck!!

Thanks Ian for the great insight. Last question: I know a bike is a sum of all it's parts, but are you feeling that the long chainstay has a particular effect on the handling of the bike (i.e. harder to pull up or to manual)??

Hall Ranch classic shots! That place has one of the most fun and diverse loop I've ever done. Great review btw, thanks! I wonder how it stacks up against the new Mattoc by Manitou. Hope Vital will have a review down the line also.

Pretty sure Graves always rode small bikes in the Sea Otter "dh" race. He is the ultimate small bike shredder, coming from a 4x, bmx background. I remember he used to say how he was doing full on shuttle runs on his 4x hardtail to maximize speed and line choice on a small bike. If anybody can do it on a small bike, it's him. Didn't Lopes do well in Australia with a small bike also in 2010?

Creek Side is a 'sub division' in the actual village of Whistler. It's about 4,5km from the actual village. So what he said is that he drove from Creekside to Function (another sub-division located at the entrance of the Whistler area) and that he made his way up the stage through the usual trails. Hardly a penalty IMHO, as it's impossible to shuttle those trails anyway. Teething problems with EWS, but it's all gonna be forgotten in a couple of weeks
