I knew that but I figured there is no benefit from buying online like the other companies listed. They are still a bike shop focused brand. I guess it would be different if it was a few hundred cheaper buying direct. Plus they ship their bikes completely disassembled so buying it direct only makes sense if you don't have a local bike shop close that carries them.

12/7/2017 12:16pm Nonsense! 2.8" Butcher Grids are just fine on a hardtail. The increase in small bump grip is night and day over 2.3/2.5". Watch this test. The bigger the tires get the better the hardtail. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LoGGfOAO09k

12/4/2017 4:55pm To throw a spanner in the bath. I'd only buy a Plus hardtail. Hardtails are harsh garbage with zero rear grip so the more compliant the tires the better. Plus on a HT makes a load of sense. I would buy a used Specualized Fuse or something.

12/2/2017 8:45am I give the stanchion coating one wet day at Whistler BP. It also looks increasingly rising rate. Not sure how that could be fixed? Maybe by using a link and positioning the shock in that main frame somewhere?

LR is falling from 2.7 to around 2.6. Not particularly low nor particularly high pretty flat. Should work real well with an air shock. Big guys should aim for LR of 2.0-2.5 (think Foes) if possible but most airshox will handle 325 or so reliably so the big guys should still be good to go. If you are well above 3 bills then I would recommend a hardtail.

It's not the ratio, it's the ratio change. 13% progressive over 160mm.

A few interesting details but ultimately floored due to leverage rate and reach numbers. Well done to Vital for posting the kinematic graphs. Especially good info for heavier riders who'll have to run max volume spacers and 380psi in this bike.
