JCL Added a reply to How Much Reach is Too Much Reach?

440mm and 40mm on the AM. 430mm and 50mm on the Trail. 174cm. Would probably like 10mm more on both but would rather have that 10mm on the rear centre on the AM.
Not to discount Gwin's World Cup wins, but where are all of his World Champ jerseys? Sam was consistent in the overall race series and also consistently won Word Champs - twice as a Junior and 3 times in Elites.

The guy is a machine. Also HUGE props to Sven and Vital with the scoop in real time. We're absolutely spoiled with the coverage we get.

How about some huge props to Marshy, frame swap to race ready in under 45 min isn't impossible but its still damn impressive.

Can't, UCI still has a stupid rule requiring same wheel size front and rear. It's an old carry over from TT bikes, but there has been rumors that it may be up for consideration. I agree that 29 front/27.5 rear would be the ultimate DH race setup. The big front wheel gobbles up everything and keeps you rolling over the holes, and the smaller rear allows you to move your weight back, changes direction a little easier, accelerates/decelerates quicker, is stronger and lighter.

Specialized made the claim that it's "effectively" 150mm of travel when you consider the saddle tilt. I'm used to a 150mm dropper and would agree that my ability to move around the bike was similar to a post with that amount of actual travel, though the center of the saddle may be just a bit higher overall. Not having oh sh*t moments by snagging my shorts could be worth the tradeoff in actual travel for many riders. Superficially, it makes your bike photo better with the seat slammed. Short riders who typically need every millimeter of room on a Reverb...

I am in the same boat. I'm 6'4". My current bike has a reach that is 2 inches longer, and a seat tube that is an inch shorter. Looks pretty, but I think they made a big miss on the geometry.

I couldn't ride one. I'd need the reach of the large but then I'd only be able to run a 100mm dropper. Seat tubes are miles too long.

I don't know, it isn't being marketed as a new "standard," moreso a piece to the compete package. I'll never say never, but I'd be surprised if other manufactures jumped on board with it. Besides, us Hope fanboys are just fine with not having other hub options.

They're all worthy, for me it's hart's champery run, the legendary commentary adds to it and his margin of victory, age, and fact that its world champs in conditions as gnarly as anything I've ever seen (maybe with exception of lourdes this year, that was bonkers) puts it over the top. But again they're all beautes.
