1/22/2026 8:47pm Who buys this stuff? How can a $500 replacement cage be 10x better than a GX cage you will smash on a rock anyways?

1/18/2026 5:57pm I find it hard to believe that this would be an Esker, simply because the design is more complicated than what is on brand for them. A huge part of their ethos is simplicity: Every bike they sell has external cable routing. Why would they do internal routing, especially if this was a prototype or validation frame? With how much the industry is struggling (Esker themselves have had a bunch of their bikes on sale, including their suspension bikes they just brought back this past year), I would be surprised that they would be trying to expand outside their core...

1/15/2026 4:42pm I tend to doubt specialized is exiting the shoe game. Their current shoes are really good. But they also have been on hella clearance for a loooong time now. My guess is they have an updated version they will release at some point but like the enduro they are in no rush to do so. But who knows maybe they decided the market is too saturated to be worth the squeeze. Would be a shame though cause honestly the build quality was much higher than my last few pairs of 510s.

1/15/2026 6:19am Echoes; The Specialized 2fo has the most similar rubber and sole feel to the best shoes ever, the OG Intense/5.10. Impact/Sam Hill, while being about half the weight and dealing with water much better. I have a tiny French foot and the Specialized shoe fits better thany anything in the current 5.10 lineup. Ride Concept shoes in my size(41) suffer from the same issue as the Teva’s they were originally based on, not enough soft surface area on the bottom of the shoe, the harder compound edges bounce my feet off. For dry park days, skatepark and pumptrack riding, the...

1/14/2026 7:01pm But who’s got the inside scoop on specialized shoes? Are they going to continue making them? I like the 2FO DH but it’s hot for trails. I am hoping they make one similar that is a bit more breathable. I want a good breathable trail shoe with solid contact. I also have the Ride Concepts Tallac and while the fit...

1/14/2026 6:55pm I was die hard Five Ten Sam Hills while they were still around. Was heartbroken to see them discontinue and wasn't able to stock up in time. With reserve, I tried the Spesh 2F0 DH and was very pleasantly surprised on how grippy they are! Now after going through these, they seem as though they may be getting discontinued with no restocking taking place. I am scared now.............. I don't know what else can meet such a high set bar of all out grip and I need some fresh soon for DH. Freerider pros have been my go to for...

1/3/2026 6:18pm Maybe you can summarize instead of asking folks to comb through ~68 pages of posts looking for the relevant ones? Edit: Found it: https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/nerding-out-brakes-shall-we-not-ano… tl;dr a couple people who tried it (including the OP) ran into issues once the brakes heated up, including fully-locking up the brakes Here's a sample: "Yes just came on here to report this issue today at the bikepark haha. Pumped up too much after a long descent. Even weirder : adjusting the contact the normal way with the small T9 torx would "reset" the lever. Meaning that turning the contact adjuster one way then the...

12/30/2025 7:23pm Biking will be a lot of fun in 2026. Side knobs will be scrubbed while riding Enduro because the spirit of Enduro will never die, like ACDC says, NEVER GONNA DIE!!! TV Enduro may fade away, but that won't stop us from riding up to ride down fast and hard on our backyard tracks, all of us, every single Vital mtb junkie. Long travel trail bikes will suddenly become cooler than ever because they are being discontinued and we all knew they were cool but we already have one and don't need another one just yet. Who cares about climbing...

12/29/2025 9:46am I have a trail bike with 170mm drop and no switchgrade. I also have an enduro bike with a 160mm drop with a switchgrade that was limited by insertion depth. I'm shorter so these lengths are good for me. The switchgrade probably won't make you faster, but it will provide more comfort. Ask yourself "do I ever get a numb...
