That's nice to hear @dantecusolito ! It's nice to hear that this kind of engagement can also have an impact on customers. But pretty pictures and videos certainly are the better sales drivers. When I refer to "manpower" I am talking about our in-house capacity. We manufacture/assemble our posts in Taiwan in our own facilities with our own team of now 13 people. That means every single post is assembled by ourselves, not, as it is otherwise often the case, by a "partner"/factory/assembler who is contracted to do all the sourcing, manufacturing, assembly to get the product ready in the box to sell. We draw every single part, source the suppliers, have them made, get them to us and then put everything together in our own facilities with our own machines. No post...

Others already said it, but we’re a narrow niche inside the bike world. Most people buy bikes based on price, performance, and looks. Unless Markus turned out to be the literal devil, most riders won’t care. And even within our little corner, plenty of people see him as a kind of “savior,” so it’s not like there’s consensus, outside this thread. There’s also a bit of hypocrisy here. I think like most things this very much depends on where and what you ride. Here in Vancouver almost everyone I know is on a 160-180mm enduro bike. Our trails have a lot of big roots and big compressions so we’re using every bit of travel we can get. Even if you primarily shuttle to the top you’ll likely be pedalling at some point so you rarely see downhill bikes at Seymour.

You're very entitled to your own opinion, but I didn't hear the same contradictions you did. I've re-listened multiple times this morning and I still can't hear it the way you have. I heard Markus say they knew they were facing tough times but weren't expecting the PE firm to get to a point where they aren't willing to inject cash. The Fire Sale was an effort to get through that specific period without having to ask for more cash. That failed and then they were told 'no more'. I tried to make this clear in my follow-up audio note, but I’m really not trying to throw shade at @Downtime Podcast or Chris. Two things can be true: Chris is one of the best hosts in the MTB world, and the Markus episode missed the mark for some of us. No podcast hits a home run every time. If your definition of making money in a cushy fashion is 4 days work for minus £40 and comments like this, then I must be that hanger on using mountain bikers for my benefit. Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. Ive had three pairs of Dominions and they have less free stroke than any other brake I've used at ~14mm. All very consistent. Definitely don't need long throw for light stroke.

People have been astroturfed into believing LLMs can do things they can't possibly do. There isn't going to be some utopia that exists in a post-AI world because AI simply can't do that much and there isn't a post-AI world where AI does everything. Yes, it's improving, but there is still a hard ceiling of what it is able to do and that ceiling is not going anywhere, nor are the numerous issues they face. Respectfully, it's more accurate to say " Pro tip, your super enduro will absolutely be acceptable for DH trails." No matter how good long travel single crown bikes are these days, there's still no replacement for displacement.
