Martin Whiteley had proposed A and B races as a solution to having a smaller main event. B on Saturday, A on Sunday, and keep riders able bust into the A group, top 5 B racers race in A the following day.

I'm with ya, used to always own a DH and trail bike and did lots of Whistler bike park plus some shuttling... young kids at home in the city now means not enough of that to justify the big rig... but I love to rent a V10 in Whistler a couple times a year cuz it's so damn fun. Wonder if they will release the DH linkage and drop-outs... but I guess you'd likely need a longer stroke shock as well. Lots of stuff to buy to swap over, worth it for a trip but bit of a pain to...

Spot on here. As I've said in this thread before there are likely only 3 brands in the MTB game that have carbon engineering teams in house. Teams. Not just a guy who is an engineer with some carbon training and works in Solidworks. They are: Scott, Specialized and Trek. Which is why they all have pretty light frames (or very light frames). In the case of Specialized and Trek, internal frame storage and in the case of Scott, a shock inside their Spark frame.

FWIW, carbon for mountain bikes (except XC maybe) is the biggest mistake ever. Bikes are not a simple product to make out of composites (complex shapes and details, bearing mounts, two parts to the rear triangle, etc.), carbon or any composite is not a simple material to work with as it's not isotropic, the industry can't afford to do proper engineering on the product, as the numbers, price and lifecycles of the final products are not at a level that would make composites a worthwhile choice of material, etc. I am speaking out of my butt here, haven't thrown around...

I had the luck of running into a Rockshox guy today at Trestle who had some covered up prototype suspension on his bike. Sounds like the Zeb is getting a new damper and air spring early next year. Maybe we will see the new Super Deluxe then as well.

Carson is one of those guys where keeping it real is costing him a paycheck. Nothing wrong with that but he doesn’t exactly produce a ton of content. That said he has a fair number of local sponsors who benefit a lot from how much he kicks it around Oregon. Hopefully some of them can step up support in Rocky’s absence.

Heres a very out of the box thought but would be rad to see. What if Rheeder goes off on his own and in conjunction with Title (His components brand) starts building frames? There seems to be a shift in the past couple years of more and more riders progressing in the industry. Take the Athertons, starting their own brand, Isak Leivsson welding his own frames, and now Neko Mullaly building a program around frames he designed. Not very likely, but would be rad to see!

One jab at your writing, we're talking about those brands in DH racing, are they present that well in Enduro racing too? I kinda have the feeling Enduro sticks to more traditional brands where the sales for the average consumer also are. Anyway, regarding Canyon, is it possible the organisation is central, but there are sort of different 'subteams' and budget inputs from them? As far as FMD is concerned, it's the Tahnee program with her sponsors as those clash with the factory team - Sram vs. Fox/Shimano. Another option would be Canyon just having the teams they are somewhat...

I believe it would be interesting to see for all the Commencal and Canyon teams how much money actually comes from the bike brands and how much from other sponsors. I am pretty sure in most cases they are actually just frame sponsors, but on the other hand, if someone else is paying the bigger bucks, they must want to have their brand name first in the team nomenclature, right? Anyway, this is my list: - Commencal Muc-Off - obviously factory team and Commencal pays the most money - 100%/ Commencal - the official name is with 100% first, so...

We are one is creating a new Enduro team, they just signed Emmet from PB academy... Maybe the other spot may be filled with Keegan Wright, he spent a lot of time in bc, maybe he got in contact with them... Another option could be Florian Nicolai? Miranda Miller?

Am I the only seeing the seattube mast looking very similar to the VPP Intense proto? As in it's an internal design, not literally a Session?

Other than at least 10 pepole being involved (per cathro's story a few days ago) not much. But I'd be willing to bet that sana cruz and fox suspension are sponsors.
