To be honest I lost the overview. 3 or 4 Commencal teams and 3 Canyon teams?
Anyway, this is my list:
- Commencal Muc-Off - obviously factory team and Commencal pays the most money
- 100%/ Commencal - the official name is with 100% first, so I suspect most money comes from them
- Dorval AM Commencal - the investment fund obviously pays the biggest chunk and, as far as I can remember, they have the luxury to choose what frame they want and the Commencal are notoriously effective, so a little help from the brand can't hurt
- Commencal Nobl/Vee - not sure what the set-up is here, but it's obvious that for Nobl it's a huge financial effort and, even so, they don't have enough firepower to be the main sponsor, as a small up and coming brand; probably Vee Tire will provide important backing, as they obviously want to grow their footprint in the gravity scene
- Canyon CLLCTV Factory - factory team, everything clear here
- Canyon CLLCTV FMD - same here, factory, but my guess is that i their case the input from other sponsors is bigger than on the other team, not bigger than Canyon's, but a different proportion
- Canyon CLLCTV Pirelli - given the size of those Pirelli patches on their kit, it wouldn't surprise me if the tire sponsor moves first in the name come season opener, but it's been ”Trek Pirelli” on the XC circuit, so...
Anyway, regarding the talk a few pages before, who would've thought 10 years ago that we would speak of SR Suntour, Tektro, Promax, Kenda and Vee Tire on World Cup performance level, with all seriousness? I believe this is a good mirror about the good times we're having. If only Cannondale and Manitou made a proper comeback too... * sighs *
Much respect to every company that supports racing!

Anyway, regarding Canyon, is it possible the organisation is central, but there are sort of different 'subteams' and budget inputs from them? As far as FMD is concerned, it's the Tahnee program with her sponsors as those clash with the factory team - Sram vs. Fox/Shimano.
Another option would be Canyon just having the teams they are somewhat involved in under the Collective brand (therefore collective...), as freeriders are a part of this too, if I'm not mistaken, and the real status is shown by the 'Factory', 'FMD', 'Pirelli' parts? Kinda like you have two Red Bull teams in F1 (well, you used to, Alpha Tauri doesn't have any RB branding anymore actually...), but they are completely distinct from one another organisation wise, but Alpha Tauri does buy the allowed parts from RB to build their cars (almost wrote bikes here :D ).
Not very likely, but would be rad to see!
@primoz I see the point in your jab and you are right. I don't follow enduro as close as downhill, so the only brand that I have seen on that level is probably Suntour. The other brands, if they are not present in enduro racing yet, I don't see why they wouldn't be involved in the future. I think you understood too that, given their presence in downhill, normal people started taking these brands more serious on trail bikes too. TRP has pretty good reputation, for instance. I know people curious about their drivetrains, if you could only buy them over here. And the perception about Tektro brakes started to change into the better too. I also see Promax with other eyes, since their UR sponsorship, and I also spoke to riders who were satisfied with the OEM Vee tires on their Marins and other bike brand. I only hope this growth continues and spreads to other brands too.
Anyway, so what sponsors are we betting on, if we talk about Cathro's PB team? Seems Deity is involved. Will his other former personal sponsors be around too? POC? DHaRCO? Continental? Fox? Santa Cruz? Or rather ask this way: what brand is out there, that makes DH bikes and could use some representation?

This would make Rheeder’s departure even more of a head scratcher.
Putting the tin hat on, wouldn't it be wild if Rheeder went to WAO? They did tease that they were working on a DH bike...
Personally I think trek has a lot to gain by putting title stuff on their dh bikes. I have pretty good luck with Bontrager parts and think a lot of brands waste a lot of money on trendy oe parts I replace anyways. Often with something I’m pulling from a current bike. So a title bar/stem isn’t something I’m concerned with. But a ton of people really just want something a little cooler that comes that way out the door.

It will be cool to see what he can do in enduro with proper team support.
