1/1/2026 9:40am Saw the new sixfinity yeti pedal bikes out on the trail yesterday. My guess is they weren’t ridden by yeti employee’s and maybe some shop riders as one of them had a shop jersey on. Makes a good chance they are coming sometime 2026. They Look super clean

12/31/2025 5:15am I had the team at Cane Creek help with suspension setup and tuning. The Tigon is stellar! The progressive spring helps smooth out most of the small rocks and roots throughout the trails in Pisgah without bottoming out hard on the serious drops, jumps, and boulders on the downhills. I have the second setting basically set up as a lockout for the long gravel grinds. Haven’t had a chance to take it up for any shuttle runs yet. But; oughta be able to add air to the Tigon to handle bigger, harder, faster downhill hits.

12/30/2025 5:41pm Let’s not let the OG rumors thread saga end talking about folks saddle nose angle preference. In the nature of rumors: - heard rumblings from a brand that makes a flex pivot XC bike of pushing the flex pivot into larger travel aka trail categories. Could be a replacement for the tallboy. Bringing the Blur LT back? - spotted a production looking fox 40 in the wild - generative arch - regular sticker kit and gloss - new 40 and 38 release before sea otter? Back to back days like the 36 and 34sl?

12/29/2025 5:12pm Wishes for 2026: Looking to buy a light trail bike in coming months so hopefully one of those 3 happens: New SC Tallboy gen6, hoping for frame weight under 6lbs / 2700g, travel increase to 140mm front /130mm rear wouldn't bother me too much but would prefer it to stay at 130/120mm Yeti SB120 with sixfinity suspension, I have no interest at all for their switch infinity system that require proprietary bearings and frequent maintenance. A switch to sixfinity would likely mean heavier frame weight but could accept it for the suspension performance boost. Light trail Ibis, be it a...

12/27/2025 10:15am Since this has been one of the most prolific threads on the site, thanks for anyone who got things going, kept us informed or on the hook, or tossed everyone off the scent of that's was really happening until it did. And thanks for the Vital crew for switching to a yearly thread like team rumors.

12/26/2025 3:12pm 1. No Strava. I toyed with it last year but I didn’t do a single Strava ride this year. Never liked bikes more and never rode better. 2. Shuttling. Rode for years with a crew that didn’t like shuttling but a friend dragged me into it just this fall and DAMN DO I LOVE DRIVING BIKES UP HILLS. I love getting dropped off but I also love driving my friends!!! 3. DT rim. I don’t even know which one maybe the ex471 but whatever the case WOW this thing saved my bike career. I can’t afford carbon hoops right now...

12/24/2025 9:53am 1. Riding on a regular basis again. My first few years with Vital I didn't have the best work-life balance. Managed to log the most time in the saddle I ever have this year (based on strava, which is lyf3) 2. Mechanical Transmission. It's what I would buy and ride if I wasn't so fortunate to be in the industry 3. Trying to optimize my recovery after getting a Garmin watch. It's pushed me to create better sleep habits, drink less, and be more in tune with how my body is chugging along week to week. Highly recommend if you...

12/24/2025 3:20am 1) Teaching my partner how to ride! She decided she wanted to try so I slapped her on my big bike and have been chasing her all around the blue flow trails of Van Isle on my gravel bike for a few months now. I’m so proud to see her make rapid progress outside her comfort zone AND see the supportive vibes from other more experienced riders at the trailhead, good job guys
2) 2025 Fox 36- I went through 3 or 4 past gen 36’s with GRIP2 dampers that felt like hot garbage compared to the comparable Rockshox/Cane Creek...

12/23/2025 1:27pm Thanks for the kind words! I haven't tried the Motives yet, and while I've heard great things about the Dominion T2s I'm not sure I'll ever go back to two pistons. Now you've got me curious about those Piccolas... I'll be sure to update this review with points of comparison as they arise.

12/23/2025 1:15pm 1. Buying a short travel 29". The LT E-bike has been collecting dust since I got my RM Element. 2. Solo rides on local trails. Being a dad with a full time job, makes me enjoy the 1,5 - 2 hour local solo rides after work. 3 . Schwalbe Albert Trail Radial. Gamechangers for my Element. Mutes the trail chatter. 4. ODI Longneck v2.1. Best grips ever for people like me that hate to ride with gloves. 5. Not working in the bikeindustry anymore. After 18 years in the industri (bikeshops, sales rep, import/dist), its nice to have mountainbiking only...

12/23/2025 1:15pm 1: Falling back in love with biking and actively doing it every week. I used to ride a lot in the late 90s early 2000s but stopped riding mostly for about 12/13 years. I rode bike parks a few times a year in between but didn't have any sort of trail bike and never rode my locals. 2020 I got the itch right as bike boom started undenounced to me, bought a low end polygon and went out with my uncles riding group and knew it was part of my life again. Rode probably 25 rides before preordering a Tempo...

12/23/2025 1:15pm 1. Learning how to jump; as an ex-roadie getting my wheels off the ground was scary AF but once I got it OMG, so fun (and still so much to learn!) 2. Riding/sessioning with friends: nothing better than helping each other progress and the shared stoke that comes with it 3. Digging: putting in time to build and improve the trails I ride is incredibly rewarding and it's fun getting a (small) say in how they're built 4 MRP Lift Damper: as a lighter rider this has been a game-changer for me 5. Schwalbe Radials: I feel like this is...

12/23/2025 1:13pm A. Having multiple running bikes with 26” wheels, steep head angles, front brakes, knobby tires, a chainguide and gears. Tiny bikes with tiny wheels make everything harder, when you get paid to make trails and make them easier this helps to soothe the soul. Might as well take the trials line… B. Vermont. Duh C. East Coast XC racing showing signs of growth. UCI xco in NC and VA, and a well-attended 10 round XCO series in New England… 66 degree head angles on 23 pound bikes is finally clawing back mindshare and marketshare from the Enduro fad… now if...
