11/8/2019 9:05pm You seem nice. Here’s a free tip: don’t like e-MTB? Don’t get one and scroll past any stories involving one. You may be less angry.

11/8/2019 9:04pm Looking into your comments you've got a hate on for e-bikes. Can you show me on the doll where the bad bad e-bike touched you?

11/4/2019 7:11pm I dunno man... if they are tagging this article as "Vital's Voice" then that pretty much says something.

11/4/2019 7:11pm “Most pros don’t ride ebikes” like that’s a fact? That’s ignorant as generalization often is. I can name tow pro riding buddies that ride their ebikes a fair amount, especially pre season. I’m definitely not going to name drop my friends because you have a pre determined belief that you are correct.

11/4/2019 7:06pm For an opinion post and one of the more relevant mountainbikesites, and you being a journalist, this article is surprisingly biased. I've been drawn by your headline because I recently had a conversation where my point was just that. E-Mountainbiking is just not the same as traditional biking. Therefore it's a different sport. My point was, that you can't generally share a ride between the two because the physical difference and intend of use of it's owners would be to big. However I've seen and experienced the exception. Sometimes weird - him being soaking wet and out of breathe, while...

11/4/2019 7:01pm I've ridden both and I have no issues with e-bikes getting more people out or allowing people to ride longer. I took my Dad on a pretty serious ride for the first time in years and we BOTH had fun- thanks to an e-mtb for him. Bikes are bikes- and honestly, I think a lot of the hate is blown out of proportion.

11/3/2019 11:25am In the USA lawsuits are a fact of life, so there will always be someone or some group suing for something. Just because some cowboys are suing the USFS about 132 miles of trails doesn't mean the sky is falling and trail access allover the USA is going to be revoked. At the end of the day trail access should be for all of us to enjoy; horse, hikers, MTB and eMTB, no one group has the right to limit other groups. We live in the USA, freedom of choice!

11/2/2019 10:15pm I am 78 this year and after 13 surgeries from a climbing incident now have a blue permanent hang tag for the rear view mirror. I can still do almost everything I formerly did but am restricted to the length of time and distance and exertion it takes to do it. I have been avid at MTB since Gary Fisher days. Now I use a CLASS-ONE eMTB to be able to continue enjoying my outdoor life like I did for many years before. In many ways it has saved my life. I am not at all ashamed of owning and...

11/2/2019 7:32pm People that ride these bikes like to ride. I bet many people that ride ebikes could crush you on an acoustic antique bike. Variety is good. I own an ebike, gravel bike and acoustic hardtail.

11/2/2019 5:06pm Your article was enlightening. I have been struggling to understand the antipathy towards e-bikes and I think you've highlighted it - culture. There would appear to be a feeling that e-bikes don't fit an idealized notion of mountain bike culture and might bring people to the trails who aren't like “us" - who might drive a Porsche and not know who Steve Peat is. While I'm not excited for the trails to be more crowded either, living in the US, I think I've had my fill of culture wars and political tribalism the last few years and would rather at...

11/2/2019 2:18pm Disagree with the stance of this article from an opinion basis, but there is also numerous incorrect pieces of info, I also do not appreciate Vital's choice of image for the lead (Racer guy hammering, and some dude bobbling on a roach emtb with no helmet, no proper attire, etc....that misleads the reader that all people on an eMTB are this guy). It is not a different sport and its as much as a different tool as a hardtail XC bike is to a 160mm trail bike. You are a test rider, and all you came away with is "heavy...

11/2/2019 9:51am Well you first point about the ride quality is a bit pointless as that’ll get sorted as the bikes get iterated. Guess all the pros are wrong so.

11/2/2019 9:50am Seems to me that the whole thing will always be debated, and that's the end of the story. There will ever be consensus, and that's fine. Just because there are cranks, some people will believe ebikes are mountian bikes. Some people, on the other hand, believe any addition of power will make it a motorcycle. Do there have to be pegs for people to really believe they are different? Of course they are different. But I think the focus should be on the purpose. The author seems to rather sit on a thumb tack and climb for hours than rocket...
