I was catching up reading all the pre-embargo chit-chat about the Stumpy and you beat me to linking our review, Spomer. Do we even need to cover new bike launches at this point? All you internet detectives seem to get the job done just fine haha I'm curious what people think about the Stumpy after they read through all the details. As you'll see, I only rode the bike for two days, but I really liked it. I gave more of an overview of how the GENIE shock works and focused more on what that translated to on the trail...

Just saw on the PB article that there’s no routing option for a cable drive train on the new stumpy. What the fuck is wrong with these people.

Isn't that kind of the point of the Stumpjumper though? It's the Toyota Camry (or maybe more appropriately the Tacoma) of mountain bikes. An easy to ride and live with bike that appeals to the fat part of the bell curve.

The new stumpy makes me extremely happy...about my current stumpy evo! Nothing about the new stumpy makes me "want" it. Even the side strut on the old evo adds a bit of character compared to the new one...

A deep dive on the other site had me find this unreleased article. Can't click on it but surely it can't be far away I'm unable to tell whether it's mechanical or wireless, apologies for the poor quality screenshot.

Maybe not a confirmation, BUT could increase rumors. Iirc patent filing will call what we call drivetrains "transmissions". I still have my hopes out for a mechanical transmission from SRAM though, until then I'll stick with XT/X01.

100% on the tapered bleed fitting tip. About a year ago there was a PB interview with one of the Hayes guys, and he said as much in other words. He specifically recommends taking a pair of Knipex and giving the fittings a little bit of extra torque to make sure the bleed fitting tip bottoms out in the bleed port. As soon as I started doing that, my bleeds got way more consistent and stopped getting that infuriating trickle of bubbles when I did vacuum bleeds.

Bigger companies working with proprietary shocks is historically not awesome.

Like Fox Brain or Reaktiv? Not really excited for a bike coming with a special shock. The past shown it was never a way to go. What a bummer if true.
