Would be cool if you could compare 2 bikes at once to try to get them to fit similar. also would be nice if you could add reach, hta adjustments, or wheelsize. but would rather use this than AI to figure this math out for me. I use this one quite a bit https://madscientistmtb.com/bike-geometry-compare/

Bman Liked a comment about product review Tested: Pivot Mach 4 SL (2026)

@foyetroute I had the Mach 4sl in 115mm travel mode and yes, there was def more shock movement with regular pedaling. And I’m only 140 pounds so flex has never really been an issue for me. I like a little compliance in a frame which is about all I ever get.

@Bman does the Ripley SL pedal better than the Mach 4sl you had? Also is the frame stiffer, or just as flexy as the previous gen mach 4 sl?

Don’t we still want metal bicycles from time to time? The main reason seatposts are the diameters that they are are because they roughly correlate with the internal diameter of round tubes you buy from industrial suppliers. messing too much with the seatube diameter requires machining collars you plug weld into the tube to recieve the desired diameter.

A classic.

There is pretty much only 4 size that you see across all bike categories (road to DH) for round seatpost: 27.2mm / 30.9mm / 31.6mm / 34.9mm and 27.2mm is barely used in MTB. I understand the point of 34.9mm for durability on longer dropper but weight creep up fast in that size. I think it's mostly the 30.9mm and 31.6mm that could be reduced to only 1 of the 2. 30.9mm is the better size if you need to shim a dropper in that size in a 34.9mm frame with a thicker 2mm shim compared to a 1.65mm thick...

Hahah - can you imagine a crowd funded buyout from here - we can't even agree on damping vs dampening... (Joking - I know we can really...)

It’s not as bad as ebike racing but there should be mandatory pond crossings either way

This could potentially be WILD, I'll be keen to watch some footage. Racing on snow is usually insane! It used to be more of a thing in the 90's & 2000's so I'm not going to write it off yet. I don't get why people have to rage out so hard on new events? No ones making you participate in or watch it. Good on Danny Hart for giving it a nudge - could be a trendsetter!

Does number of UCI world championships medals influence number of athletes an Olympic committee can send to Paris this summer? Based on the number of Swiss and French cyclists in the lineup it’s the only reasonable explanation I can conjure up for this event.

Material is aluminum (AlSi10Mg), M4 bolt passes through the derailleur bolt from the back and threads in to secure it. If it seems there would be interest I'll make some available.

It's kind of mind blowing to me if he really does move to Norco, given how he was basically given free reign on the new V10 development (and didn't like the HP proto), plus all the other component changes. For someone as picky as him, that's a massive amount of change.

Thanks for posting the note about proper setup of that guide. In addition to fixing the spacing, Slash owners should rotate the guide clockwise so that it's increasing chainwrap on the chainring and countering chain growth. The former for better chain retention, and the latter for the overall performance of the Transmission system. A gap of 10-24mm from the bottom of the chainstay to the top of the roller, depending on frame size and drivetrain, is what we advise.

Agreed it’s a problem, and I’ll be watching for the updated review. What if, just what if, the remedy to all of your woes was the 2mm spacer/proper setup? Production/assembly issues happen all the time, and if this really is the fix, this is about as simple as it gets.

Butch makes a very good point about how Snowshoe shuts down their entire operation to accommodate all of us, the race teams, the TV crews etc… I agree that there are probably very few resorts in the US who are willing to commit to hosting a race for 3-4 years let alone one race. I’m so grateful to Snowshoe for bringing the circus to town these past four years. it’s such a small venue you get such intimate access to the riders, mechanics, support staff and media. I will miss it next year. I saw Loris’ interview on WynTV as...

It really is amazing how narcissistic Euro DH racers are. They train all winter long to be the fittest nerds on 2 wheels & on the weekend it comes down to being the fittest, they whine. For crying out loud, I've sprinted that whole mountain on a muddy weekend with a fresh course & passed bike design company owners walking in their race runs. There are so FEW mountains on this planet that want to host a seething mass of downhill riders. Pits taking up space Tuesday to Monday with massive rigs & specific needs. Hiring a monstrous staff to...
