Terrible for the pivot guys On the belt drive topic, I think the fact that someone crushed a two day, seemingly back to the olden days of Enduro style race without a mechanical on varied conditions shows they they might actually be something that can happen at the top of the sport. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up over a DH race week.

Hattie did win the EDR Overall last year on a derailleur. I don't think her winning or not winning is something a person could pin on a drivetrain. She seems to be good on bikes. ...she also has won in XC, Cyclecross. I get the feeling she's just really damn fast on a bike a knows how to win.

So stoked to see a proper enduro race and good coverage of it! Warning, mini essay on the state of Enduro ahead! I know the that downhill is more spectacular, and it’s certainly easier to cover, but there is something about proper enduro that really draws me in. One aspect is definitely that it’s more relatable — it’s the kind of riding and racing that I do. I can easily imagine just how fried they feel after 4 big days, or a after completing a long taxing stage where you’re just hanging on. But even moreso, it’s the narrative of...

If I'm not mistaken, this is the third Enduro World Cup event in a row won on flats: the last two ones were the World Champs in Val di Fassa won by Alex Rudeau and Loudenvielle won by Martin Maes who switched to flats especially for that race.

"Privateer" Booker wins on flats on an SC Bronson after taking the final stage. HH wins on belt driven gearbox alum monster of a bike. Fantastic and unbelievably close racing! We need a bike check on both of these bikes.

Would love a detailed bike check for Hattie and how she maxes the pros/minimizes the cons of her setup (a super capable but heavy/less efficient bike for a race w/1500m climbing). Awesome race though, would've loved to have watched the final stage.

After watching the recap from day one, it looks like Rudeau switched to a 36, so I guess the answer is that he we wanted a little less travel and a lighter fork. I can’t post the screenshot I took for some reason but you can see it pretty clearly at 14:45 in the recap video. On another note, I’ve been really encouraged by the coverage so far this year! The practice highlights, and particularly the day one recap with interviews at the end of the day, feel like they do a much better job of capturing the vibe of...

0.3 seconds over 48 minutes of racing is 0.01 PERCENT difference in time, that is unbelievable. I cannot wait for the next rounds have in store.

Wow, that was a tight and eventful race indeed! Congrats to Dan Booker who secured his first ever EDR World Cup win with just 0.3 seconds to spare, and to Hattie Harnden who showed she is the one to beat at the moment in the women's field (she'll need all the speed she can muster as she gets set to take on the DH World Cup in earnest as well this season - starting next week in Poland). https://ucimtbworldseries.com/news/warner-bros-discovery-sports-present… So enduro gets it's own "Drive To Survive" this year. Could be brilliant, could be cringe. For the love of enduro, please let this be good.

TL;DR, Fox reported and things are going as planned. No big red flags. Stock is up 9% after hours ontop of an additional 5% intraday. Management was quick to point out inventories are stabilizing and the bike industry might be voyaging into calmer waters, which frankly surprised me. The tariff thing is an overhang, but it feels more like the overhang has to do with the potential we end up in a recession, consumer confidence/spending softens and nobody is buying stuff - they have their ops pretty buttoned up for this sort of thing (it appears). If anyone wants the...

I’ve been in Finale this past week on vacation, and it’s rained everyday. Not a ton, but enough to make some trails slippery, while others were tacky and perfect. The weather has changed every day (currently it’s sprinkling and cloudy), but it looks like it will warm up over the weekend and be drier. It doesn’t take too much sun to dry up a lot of trails, but there always seems to be some slick turns and puddles when you least expect it. The trails that are being raced on above Pietra have been closed all week. But I know...

Here's the entry list for this weekend's race: https://chronorace.blob.core.windows.net/webresources/20250509_mtb/entr… There are many more racers in almost every category compared to last year and riders seem genuinely excited for the comeback of two-day racing.

Wouldn't it be possible to give each rider a top notch action camera and hook it up to a system like they use for the drones at downhill and what not, and just broadcast it. Riders unlikely to finish in 15th place or worse can just get an extra weight attached to the bike. No need for a commentator, just put Josh Carlsson on an E-bike and have him cruise around and chat with the riders between stages. I'd watch that.
