How about Lobster or Shrimp links? Both are somewhat related to crabs and that's kind of what you look like when you ride an XC bike (hunched back to a low bar/stem. Just imagine the negative stems that will be on 32" XC race bikes... carcinization continues as Nino Schurter goes from GOAT to Lobster)

The hub width thing isn't something I considered at first until talking to some fork manufacturers at the Taipei Show this year. The consensus seemed to be that 110mm wasn't wide enough, but no clear idea on what the ideal width would be. It sill seems crazy to me, I'm of a similar mind to @kperras on this whole thing, but it's happening and the ones really pushing for it aren't necessarily the long leg gang. I think 32" might actually offer significant speed and comfort advantages for marathon XC, bikepacking, gravel, 4x4 road exploring and the like, at least for riders who can make the big wheel bike fit work. For instance, I'm almost certain 32" would be faster and more comfortable on something like the White Rim in a Day, and I can totally envision people racing Tour Divide on 32" Mezcals and Race Kings. On the other hand, I doubt we will ever see broad adoption of 32" wheels for the type of riding that most of the Vital crowd does. Maybe I'm...

Good feedback everyone. I do agree that DD's feel nice, but the sidewall support is more or less the same as EXO+. I'm relieved to find out I'm not crazy. I'm going to continue trying out the DD's with inserts for my ebike, and see if I can get through the year on the reserve AL/HD hoop that I have on it without murdering it. I spent many days in the Left Hand zone in the 90's on moto's and mtb. It was a free for all back then, with challenging climbs, descents, and tech, and zero regulation by anyone. Last year I moved into a condo and had no storage available for my bikes/tools/gear. I was pretty bummed about this, but found a storage place a mile away away that has local trails that I can drop into right outside the gate.
