I thought Neko's perspective on the Downtime Podcast made a lot of sense. He felt the real question, which echos what Spomer posted above, is "how did we end up with a World Cup event at a track that's not safe to ride in the rain?"

why ochain on a high pivot with idler equipped bike? I thought the idler exists to manage pedal kickback/chain growth, so isn't ochain redundant?

Completely unreasonable reaction from you. You can hate USAC for anything else. A young man lost his life & they are NOT professional journalists. They are cycling federation. Issuing a 1 sentence notice to the cycling community is all their only responsibility. If you turn corners and find problems, it might be you that's causing them. That's aimed at me too.

I just think its so odd that they would make Pirelli a title sponsor knowing they arent going to race on their tires, im sure they made this clear to Pirelli as well. Almost a worse look that they dont race on their tires. Different for Specialized running blacked out tires because they produce their own tires.

Those trunnion mount shocks were built to have a bigger stroke when there is not much space in the frame. Looking at the shockmount there is still plenty of space to get rid of a trunnion mount shock and keep the stroke. So the question is why working with trunnion mount shocks when you don't have to?

"neighborhood friendly"....like everyone in the neighborhood is gonna allow a bulldozer & epic mud flows when it rains. Electric moto isn't gonna get motos close to the neighbors, but it might keep existing tracks from getting shut down sooner.

Kinda off topic, but Cranwork Cairns is on right now, the DH finals live on YouTube. There is only 5,000 watching. So we can complain all we want about ESO/Discovery whatever, but Crankworx just isn't capturing peoples attention in the same way as WCs and never has?
