I used to be in to sports cars. Then had kids. Sports cars were too expensive and tickets werent getting cheaper. Bikes are cheaper, relatively safe and give me that same hit of dopamine man! Switching up frames/components yearly keeps it interesting and fun. Can't wait for my daughters to be old enough to hit the trails with me!

Buy used off friends with this exact problem. Other tactics: a) Test ride everything possible before committing to the initial purchase. b) Only buy bikes you think look sick. c) subtle anglesets. d) update cockpit, tires, etc. every once in a while. d) Refresh your decals (fork, wheels, frame) e) keep up with maintenance, including the little things (bleeds, cables, wheel trues, etc.) to keep it smooth and quiet. I'm on a Sb5.5 that I can't manage to justify to replace since it's been modernized, still shreds, and just looks mint.

I am going to spell it out for everyone here that has less experience with Trolls. Someone is purposefully saying silly things to rile you up, just ignore it. Do not reply. Not even a little bit. Just let the stupid comment die in the wind. Then it wont be fun for them anymore and maybe, if we are lucky, we can move on with our lives

Angel Suarez has fantastic technique and can hold some pretty insane pace. I think he's been on some higher-profile teams because people who know bike racing can see that this guy has potential. Would love to see Mark Wallace get at least a Single year contract with Forbidden bikes for 2024. He lives on the island and rides with Magnus Manson often so it would be a decent fit. M agnus I don't think is ready for a world cup season yet due to his health issues so technically there's a spot on the DH team roster. I was curious how this compares to another industry so I looked at the global smartphone market. Allegedly there were 750+ companies in 2017 but in 2023 that number came down to only 250. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mobile_phone_brands_by_country That's in an industry worth something like $550+ billion USD worldwide (as of 2021). The total market size of bicycles (not just MTB, everything including road and department store bikes) was ~$75 billion in 2021. I would have to agree on a physiological basis. DH Mountain biking is performed mostly in the sagittal plane of motion, with some frontal plane motion as well. It's a fairly straight forward sport movement-wise. Example: You don't need to be a top level yogi master in order to be a DH racer like rock climbers have to be for example. This might be why I don't see many average riders stretching before they ride. As you old PT saying goes: "If you don't USE it....you LOOSE it." Meaning, if you don't work on mobility stuff, you will loose it...

I think there is something to the higher weight, less mobility thing, but to me that isn't the major thing that makes Jackson's riding different. The biggest thing I see is Jackson's corner speed on steep terrain, which I put (in part) down to his light weight allowing him to brake later and slow himself down for corners more easily than a heavier rider. Jackson seems to be able to gap into sections, clearing over bumps and holes, and then slow himself down on a dime. A heavier rider like Loic or Minnaar wouldn't be able to brake enough for...

1- Dyneema has pretty much no stretch at all, this is also one of the reason it's a good material for rope, sails, bikepacking bag and many other use but not for clothing. I am very dubious of your claim that Bruni kit is made 100% of Dyneema. Bruni's kits made of Dyneema fabric (abrasion resistant, water resistant & flexible) are being used for aerodynamic advantage on the World Cup circuit. Should they be considered an unfair advantage? They break the rules of competition per another post regarding fit. But with the material being a one off (made of an Oakley-esque Unobtanium material) suit, I pose that it is an unfair competitive advantage. Just my 2c on a couple of observations. Bulldog is still riding a Mondraker, he's been in Rotorua for the last few weeks too. About 3 hours away from our home town. Looks like he's been riding with Tuhoto a lot and a few other local's. My guess is that while he's no longer on MS, he may be on some subset of a factory program from Mondraker.
