This forum always beats the embargoes ^^^ I love it haha But yes, Devinci has launched the new Troy (150/160mm) and Troy ST (130/140mm). Gone are carbon frames, replaced by hand-made aluminum frames coming out of Devinci's factory in Chicoutimi, Canada. Compared to the outgoing Troy (140/150mm), the new models give riders a more defined intended use while still representing a sign of the more-travel-more-capable times—the ST retains many of the geometry numbers of the previous model, while the Troy is now slacker, has more travel, and comes with mixed wheels. Devinci is leaning hard into the 'premium alloy frames...

Apologies if I repeated myself as this was a very complicated piece to put together. I felt that I did a pretty good job of always adding new information or context whenever I had to bring up a point that had already been discussed (other than the reverse engineering parts, which I admit I definitely repeated). Background --> Research --> Summarize --> Opinions, like a paper! 🙂 I don't believe that Lewis's parent factory contracts out manufacturing for other brake brands. Lewis has been extremely transparent about all aspects of their business on Bilibili (including showing off the fishing reel...

I agree that the decision to go with a " Trickstuff-inspired" design was definitely patent related. They even outright mentioned this in one of the videos on their Bilibili account (that I mentioned at 21:25, though this was the only point that I was unable to find the original source for when I was making this video, bah). The stated something along the lines of " we conducted intensive patent research and found that Trickstuff had no patents we would have to work around ha ha", both verbally and in written captions on the video.

Dale just posted a comprehensive deep dive into Lewis brakes. The "Counterfeit Origins" chapter is super interesting. Solid investigative work! https://youtu.be/59xC6Q51po8?si=iWQy3wxS_URGbXqT

I always felt that the suspension-creep happened for two reasons (and I'm happy to be proven otherwise): 1. Refined kinematics allowing for better pedalling performance allowing greater suspension travel without as many drawbacks 2. Better long-travel single-crown forks allowing for 170-180mm front travel without flexy noodles. These two combined resulting in models like the Megatower creeping up in travel, and then the Hightower creeps up behind to maintain the gaps in travel from before. So rather than the mid-travel models getting longer legs, its the long-travel models getting longer and the mid-travel growing to fill the gap. As was definitely...

Couldn't agree more, so many people getting angry about misinformation and conjecture. World Cup racing has been in flux since it's inception. This is just the next change in a long line of changes. Seems to me that the main source of anger on the forums and comments sections is that it's no longer "free" to watch DH racing. But for those of use who have paid to watch the DH racing (especially the womens) has been some of the best ever. What I gather from this forum is that the World Cup should be free to enter for anyone...

Kolb is going to YT, loris to commy, reece is going to a new program with a big budget outside of the MTB industry Enduro budgets are gone and all but a very few teams will disappear to bolster the DH teams need to gather high UCI points riders of all categories to remain “elite” teams and get one of the few spots available Oh and Ebikes are 100% gone from world cups
