Thanks for the kind words. Sincerely appreciated. I also wanted to thank everyone who has taken time to particpate in this thread. In a world full of internet dumpster fires, trolling, dunking and devolving online discussions, at minimum I've found the willingness of the collective to have a meaningful, fun, civil discussion to be worthwhile in and of itself, regardless of how right or wrong we all may be. This write-up is a long one that starts with some snark. Sorry. Here's the thing about words: They mean whatever they mean in the context of their use. To quote Run DMC: "Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good." Just because a word looks a lot like much of "endurance" and a given definition of the word outlined it as "a ... race ... to test endurance" doesn't mean that the mtb race discipline named "Enduro" has to directly reflect the English word enduro to the nth degree. Enduro doesn’t need investment from governing bodies. Nor governing bodies at all, just people with bikes who want to ride a bunch of sick trails with timers. Enduro is a mindset, professional enduro is dead but it was doomed from the start.

Actually, a lot of WC DH teams are like that.. Pivot and Specialized are both like that. It's more common than you think.

I think it's an indication of the size of the country you inhabit. My sister lives in the US and thinks nothing of driving 7-8 hours and I have a Dutch friend who thinks driving somewhere over an hour away is a major mission.

Question for the collective: How well-known are the frame manufacturing companies in Asia? Is it relatively easy to link a manufacturing company to a specific frame brand, or is the process more opaque? I’d love to map this out if possible. Remember when everyone got all up in arms a couple months ago cuz Specialized made a new shock for the new Stumpy that had that scary word associated with it (**proprietary**😱) and it seemed like you had to ride the bike with the shock? Well, we got to go test with Specialized for a few days to see what led them down the path of making a larger volume air shock with two-stages.
