So far, I am impressed. I only have a few rides on it, but it was very easy to setup. The factory recommended settings have been a good starting point. The breakaway force is minimal for an air shock which I am a fan of, mid-stoke feels well supported with good range of adjustments, and I haven't had any harsh bottoms out. It simply works well, which means I haven't had to think about it much. I'm going to do a day bracketing to see if I can get more out of it, I'll report back afterwards. My only complaint...

How do you like Manitou shock? I hear really good things about the Mezzer but you almost never see the Mara in the wild.

won't disagree that there's health benefits in many cases, but pretty big assumption to make that this (or any person) has any weight to lose. nothing wrong with product innovation to accommodate a broader range of body types.

it is my educated opinion, after looking at the photos, overlaying in linkage, assessing & comparing the kinematics with my extensive catalogue of images of Sam Hill, numerous CAD reverse engineering and plugging the outputs into my google supercomputer I have come to the conclusion that BIKE LOOKS FUCKIN SICK!

Thanx for the advice, agree the Spire is great, but, same as the Range, it’s 12x148 at the back. I’m game for a 73mm crank, i’ll change to that. But not happy with changing the wheelset as well - need it at 12x150 or 12x157 for the rear wheel (really happy with current wheels, plus a new wheelset means more money spent - the wifey’s gonna shoot me 😁 ). There’s 1 new model that covers everything there is to be covered, but they aren’t releasing it yet, not sure if it was covered here in this thread - the...

Re machining calipers, - piston seal groove geometry is interesting. They are not square. About a 7deg taper on the outer surface. The top edge usually has a shallow angle chamfer to help control how the seal flexes outward. On a single piece caliper you'd need two different tools to cut the grooves. One for each side. Not the end of the world, but more custom tools. Custom ground stuff is a pain. - calipers aren't very wide so regardless of whether it's single piece or two pieces the length of tools isn't an issue. Except for the drills... -...

Norco did use it for DH with a linkage change. Williams racing makes a 200mm, mullet link for the Norco.
