Might be one in the minority here, but I always like having a bit narrower field of view for videos like this. Having the nearly 180 degree vertical fov and extreme fish eye affect because of it is off putting to me, and part of the reason I hate 360 degree cameras being used for pov shots. Great riding and love the follow cam for the stage though!

Ask them WTF were they thinking building out that Auburn spot having the team build this bike then recall everyone to MH, saying they have no money then charging 7k for a frame. The pricing seems like a miss but maybe they're trying to recoup. I suspect that they were told to build something as high end as possible. I also suspect they lost some key people to their relocation scheme. Trippin over dollars to pick up pennies. How did it feel to be taken down by a run of the mill crab bike. I kind of state the following in my opinion on the Dominions. I really don't think a light dead stroke matters as much as some people think. Since we don't spend most of our time in the dead stroke area but rather the bite point. The bite point tends to lead to brake fatigue in my experience and you can get just as much fatigue on a Dominion as any other brake. This is why a GR4 interests me...a lot.

Re: "Will we see any of the mega brands move to Avinox mid-term?" I agree that these price cuts are a direct consequence of Avinox eating everybody's lunch. But I don't think we'll see big brands starting to use Avinox, for compliance reasons. The one thing that draws consumers towards Avinox (- high power output) is basically also the reason why the big brands don't use them. If other electric motor OEMs like Bosch or Brose wanted to make, say, a 4.000 watt motor in an e-bike form factor, they absolutely could. I'm told there's nothing holding them back from...

The 8-hour training actually makes perfect sense if you think about it. If you’re going to force a 12-year-old to commute electrically assisted/throttled in a 6-inch painted gutter next to 5,000lb distracted SUVs going 50mph, they probably need Stroad-warrior level tactical training. Why build a protected bike path for $1M when you can just blame the kids for not having a Ebike Safety Certificate while they dodge F-150s?

What's the point of a new track if the goal is to burn it in like a well known track already... Now, gap jumps up top with nearly 90 degree corners before them and exposed to whatever wind or thick air is siting up top... That's another poll but you probly don't even need to make it.

Thank you all for the interest in our bikes and in our distribution / sales model. To give you a bit of context, we’re currently a team of 9 people at RAAW, based in Germany, and we ship worldwide directly from here. The US has actually grown into our biggest market after Germany, which is pretty wild considering that every RAAW in the US has been shipped individually from Germany. Our goal is, of course, to make the ordering process and ownership experience as easy as possible. Having stock in the US would be ideal, but that comes with a...

You are not wrong. If People For Bikes spent 1/4 as much advocating for safe routes to school as they did lobbying for Ebike access in skeptical communities, the shrinking American bicycle market might be expanding. Instead we seem laser focused on selling stuff to the same 10% of the population over and over again, each time with an extra battery or two.

Did you guys see my new green bike? It’s so dope. 3.00 minions are very much a radical trail experience - mounting them on the old Stans Hugo 52 was proving pretty shit lately, pulling and pulling. And wrestling and I just could not for the life of me get them around the rim wall….. it’s a wide rim and a odd tire—— my 13 year old daughter walks in the garage and asks: what if you pull and twist them the other way? Boosh. But yeah, now I’m out of Stan’s.

I got a raaw shipped this month. I think it was $280 and then fedex wanted $400 for tariffs. I haven't paid the tariff yet... Not sure how to approach it with how everything is going. A friend of mine in town got a raaw with a shock, I had one for my bike already. Plus he got an extra set of dropouts and I think his was a cheaper tariff than mine. He hasn't paid either but I feel like the customs people are just guessing what it should be and making up random numbers. I got a syringe...

The one we've all been waiting for, the first Vital RAW of the World Cup season is here, and it's a good one! Thanks to John Lawlor for the epic hustle getting this one to us so quickly. Healing vibes to Lou Fergusson who crashed on the big step down, and spare a thought for the wheel builders who have their work cut out for them after half the field cased it as well. https://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/features/south-korea-vital-raw-world-cu….

Had a real dumb one today. Had some noise somewhere on the front of the bike. Kept stopping trying to find it but couldn’t feel anything wrong and couldn’t get the sound to go off the bike. Turns out the cap for the air valve on the fork was a half turn loose. Boy did I feel stupid once I figured it out. And of course proceeded to destroy my derailleur next run so I actually had a problem then.

Hey, I did mention how a hose popping off squirted my khakis in the right spot to make the rest of the day a gag for everybody I worked with. Maybe not that full part, but yeah. Just consider the bonus material a helping hand for anyone else who still thinks wrenching in khakis is a good idea. Which begs the Q: Is there a correlation between folx wrenching in khakis and those experiencing dumb bike problems on the regular?

Why this thread exists The Bikeconomics megathread keeps getting derailed by DJI/Avinox/Amflow chatter so I'm spinning it off. Goal here is one place to talk about the DJI ecosystem, where it's headed, and what it means for the rest of the industry. Business, technology, regulatory, and the inevitable trail access tangents are all fair game. Try and keep the broader bike industry economics stuff in the megathread . The setup, for anyone just walking in I wrote a longer piece on this over at my substack, but the short version: DJI is a roughly $11B Shenzhen tech giant that decided...
